Not really bud. These are kids and a lot of money is in play. I was personally part of an NIL deal with this particular player. So I know for a fact yesterday he wasn’t going anywhere. Bag man strikes again.

Everyone take a deep breath. We will be okay. There’s a reason Coach DeBoer was named 2023 coach of the year. He made the CFP and beat Sark with the UW roster.
We will be okay. Sucks to lose players, especially because kids look up to them and buy jerseys of their favorite player but it is what it is.

I said on another post that these guys aren't here for the school anymore. Except for Saban, not the head coach. They are here for NIL and the position coach. That's it. If these guys want to leave, as much as it stings and sucks, then get out! It may take a year or 2, but we will get through it. These kids have no loyalty at all. They are running the show/asylum. There are no consequences for the players at all. College football, off the field, sucks.

A lot of non-Bama fans are celebrating all of this but at the same time would complain about how NIL is ruining CFB and turning it into an unregulated NFL

Less to do with one player and more to do with players changing schools on a yearly basis based on the best money deal. CFB is a disaster.

Honestly, all this is really killing my enjoyment of football. Might as well finally pick a pro team to root for and just be done with the college game.

I don’t know. After this one nothing is certain. There was literally a keep Downs fund happening and I guess we were outbid. It has absolutely nothing to do with where he plays or football really.

This is a gut punch. Caleb Downs was probably the player we least needed to lose in the portal. It may be nobody's "fault" but it is still a failure for the program. We just lost a guy who will be an All-Pro caliber safety in the NFL.
