Do you think Saban could win a statewide election as a Democrat?
(I know he’s not interested)

As a democrat right now, no way.

If he isn’t anti gun or in your face pro abortion maybe. Politics is dicey even for popular people. We all get softer with age so it’s possible if as long as he isn’t a whacko which he doesn’t seem to be but he does a good job keeping that stuff to himself. That being said, I’d vote for him.

“I’d vote for him”
Either you’re doing it because he was a good coach or because he’s part of a political party which has a wide range of views within it.
In either case, very dumb.

It would be pretty ironic /funny for him an Tubbs to both be senator’s, but again on different “teams”.

No. First, there's historical precedent that Auburn fans would turn out en masse to vote against him. Second, Republicans/Democrats are probably the least likely in US history to vote for the opposite party.

He wouldn’t have control the way he likes it.
If he could ensure Congress had a high bar, was accountable, and made some asses quit….id be intrigued .

If he found the changes to CFB frustrating, politics would infuriate him times 10.

I hate Democrats more than I love Saban.
He's smarter than that.

Saban is also a resident of Florida.

I hate politics on sports forums, but I will answer.
If Saban ran against Tommy I’d vote for him in a heartbeat. I am a progressive and he’s a democrat in the same vein as Manchin. There’s no question.

We don’t need more septuagenarians and octogenarians in politics.

I don't consider myself a Republican but I lean to the right (populist right) on most issues. I think that he could win a state-wide position as long as he campaigned with Manchin or Fetterman style policies.
He's a good human and I would definitely listen to him make his case.

I don’t think Jesus could win a statewide election as a Democrat in Alabama.

I’d vote for anyone over Tubberville. The fact that he is a state Senator is one of the biggest embarrassments this state has ever endured and anyone who has ever voted for him should feel overwhelmingly ashamed.
So in summary: yes
