last night i wasted about an hour and a half reading this thread. took a while to catch up, yeah i'm slow and my eyes were half closed at 2a.m. so today my approach is very different and it's been a beautiful thing. i'm skipping over the perpetual debbie downers and those that constantly argue with them. just looking for the actual relevant info. breezed right thru...

Anybody else watching this Georgia homer on Finebaum trying to downplay DeBoer's accomplishments?

We beat Georgia by going to the “40” base this year. Maybe I’m Donnie here and out of my element

Let me guess…Mike Griffith?

Beating Georgia in Bryant Denny next year is going to be so gotdamn satisfying.

Tw1st knows his football, I think a coach, so I’ll believe him. DeBoer did say he would change up schemes to fit the personal and I don’t think you can change a base defense for certain games. But if we played a run heavy team, could we switch more to a 4-3 or 3-4 for that game?

Yep, that's who it is. I hope we not only beat them, but beat them handily. Would be funny to see this dude cry.

I remember when a coach Saban came to LSU from MSU with no Southern ties.

CKD will do fine here

I remember Griffith when he was in mobile and the Bama beat writer. He hated Bama then and when that idiot Mccready got him on those were the two biggest haters ever. He sucks at softball too.

Hell he went to LSU with nothing but the Pilot of the plane.

Choices

A-None of Nick's assistant coaches wanted to work for him anymore

B-None of Nick's assitant coaches wanted to move to Loseranna

It was just satire by the way, but I should have known better considering the audience.

The guy was taking shots at me, digging/stalking through my post history, and I made a really bad choice to use satire in an effort to jab back. I should have known that most would not have made that connection. I really didn't care for the way he kept kicking the JRyan guy while he was down either. He's clearly been sufficiently beaten down. I've always gotten myself in trouble taking up for some causes.

Bad post.

But I do still recommend you try the Poli board. You would be a big hit there.

Yes and no. We did go to an even front (heavy 4) and that did slow UGA down.

Truth be told, the Alabama 3-4 front was not good this year. Our big boys did not know how to anchor and 2 gap very well.

Syd, you cannot effectively just switch from a 4-2 over to a 3-4 and have it be of any use if the DL is not well schooled on two-gapping. a betterchoice would be to shift to an old school 5-2 bear front or a 4-2 heavy. 4-2 heavy, you replace the DE's with tweener DT's. Not great for pass rush but better against the run.

We truly have gotten away from the traditional NT in the 3-4 front.

Just too much a liability in the hurry up offenses.

However our DEs are probably a bit big for traditional 4 man front and less disruptive than desirable.

Granted our nickel defense was really a 2-4 front tbh with Braswell and Turner playing the DE positions

I suspect the Alabama D this coming year will have a bit of the old Ken Donahue 4-3 Flex to it when they face a running team.
