I think it's a good idea. Young bodies still in critical growth stage then. Why not flag football for those under that age?

Not a bad idea. I love football and loved playing football. But peewee football is beyond stupid. We see how it impacts pro player’s brains. There’s no telling how bad it is for kids

It’s actually probably smart from a growth standpoint
Their functional mechanics are completely different by the time they’re juniors in HS. There’s not really any benefit to having them hit each other with that kind of force as kids, just to force them to relearn all the fundamentals after they go through puberty

It really is a good idea. My parents wouldn't let me play until 8th grade...and that's probably a good thing in more ways than one. A lot of kids I knew who played pee wee were burned out on football before they ever reached high school. Seems being insane is a requirement for coaching pee wee (or Pop Warner) football.

It's changing...kids I grew up with playing football from really young ages now have boys...They're playing flag football or travel baseball.

Great idea. My BIL an all SEC player and former college coach doesn’t believe should be played below 9th grade, and did not allow his son to play until he was a hs freshman.

The sharp decline of youth football, of any kind, is noticeable. Kids either aren’t playing anything or it’s soccer & travel ball.

I’m usually not for governments banning things other than criminal activity, but as as someone who started football at about 7 years old and can remember getting my “bell rung” - read CONCUSSION- multiple times before I was 10 and plenty more times in HS, I’m okay with this.

You don't need tackle football before hs, imo. As long as you practice on fundamentals and other aspects, you're good. Playing soccer is good for footwork per Harbaugh.

Nah, I love my boys playing football. Goes hand in hand with their wrestling. The flag football kids remind me of the awkward homeschoolers
