You clearly are mistaken, we really do not like each other.

The problem on this board is many. For one the SEC fans have ragged on B12 and lumped OU in that weak discussion. Tx has been a nobody for a long time, OU ran the B12.

And secondly, right now it just seems like we like each other becaise of how posters view things. Instead of discussing us individually most talk is about “both” schools are coming to SEC and its framed as 14 vs 2. So when posters from OU and tx reply in a thread you take it as friends or common but nothing is further from the truth.

Once we arrive and start playing SEC games then you will see how much we dislike the shorthorns and it will no longer be viewed as “them vs us”. Thats when it will be clearer.

Keep in mind tx has been a nobody for over a decade and now with more wins recently their fans have populated like cockroaches coming out of the woodwork.

Is Bama and LSU a rivalry? They way both fan bases talk on here it kinda seems like it. From an outsider perspective I always just thought of it as a big game.

el like this rivalry is similar to LSU/Bama

I haven’t seen anything from either side of OU/TX to indicate either side hates the other anything close to how LSU feels about Bama at this point.

It’s not to mitigate the quality of the teams, the uniqueness of the game and setting, it’s just different.

It’s more akin to Duke/UNC in someways in basketball where it’s an equal dose of respect to offset the disdain without ever reaching hate.

Y’all try to be everyone’s “true” rival.
But you skittered away from playing your true rival and BEG LSU, Arky and Auburn to be your now best rivals. No one wants aggy’s weird shite to be in their permanents.
Everything about aggy’s posters, here, screams:
Projection, mixed with hubris, wrapped up in pure stupidity……:with zero championships.

For Bama it’s a big game.

For LSU it’s a rivalry because their ex coach is in Tuscaloosa, they know there are several trophies sitting in Tuscaloosa that would’ve been in Baton Rouge had Saban not beat them and they are just a fan base that enjoys hating people by nature.

Bama has two rivals: Tennessee and Auburn
Bama also has two additional strong competitors: UGA and LSU

Obviously Bama wants to beat all of them, but there is only mutual animosity with the first two if that makes sense?

No. Most Bama fans don’t consider them a true rival. Bama has much respect for the Tigers and I think conversely.

LSU fans still love ole Nick. Still upset we got their National Championship coach.

It may turn into a rivalry but for now just two heavyweights doing battle in early November for all the marbles

Wish I could reply to all the good replies individually - don’t want to SPAM board.

Great, informative replies by some true fans - much appreciated for taking the time - all good points.

And of course a few alters chimed in - thanks for blowing your cover. Noted.

I do think some of the SEC craziness will spill into the Red River - get ready for 10M+ views!

That's not hatred. It's seething, creepy, obsessive, stalker-ish behavior rooted in deep-seeded envy and bitterness that they aren't you.

OU rival vs Aggy one sided rivalry

OU is a rival in every way, no matter how highly one is ranked, no matter how low the other, we both know we could get our arse kicked the second week in October. from that comes mutual respect.

Aggy on the other hand, everyone knows the most likely outcome is another Texas win. Regardless of all the one sided, red faced rant about the rivalry, how important it is to the Aggies. Texas doesn’t consider it of anymore importance than the other games.

As far as hate goes, we hate, hate, hate to lose to OU. I’m not saying we consider the dirt burglars as brothers, yet the hate is reserved to not wanting to lose. I believe that goes both ways. We both know it could happen and much of the shite talk is done knowing it will soon be returned.

on the other hand, Texas has no fear of Aggy, or respect, we freely talk down to the queer boy cheerleader lovers with no regard to fear or respect. Mostly we simply want everyone else to know there is no connection between Texas and the state cult.

Regardless of Buster’s insistence of how great the rivalry, it’s completely one sided. Texas is nothing more than a wannabe rival to anm. Also Buster does wear a degree of stupidity.

I think things will get back to normal after a few years of being in the SEC.

From my observations, the level of hate scaled back once it was announced we were both moving to the SEC. That kicked off the "Hateful Eight" teams in the big12 gunning for us and on the flip side, all the vitrol coming from the SEC side. I wouldn't say we're allies now but the pure hatred tempered down IMO.

We still celebrate their failures though like Kansas and Oklahoma State having scoreboard on them for the foreseeable future.

Well there is some of that. It happens when a team you don’t like goes on a run against you and keeps you from winning championships.

But in their defense they are the best hosts in the SEC. You tailgate down there and you will be cussed at but offered food, drinks and a place to sit which is more than I can say for some Bama fans.

People from Louisiana are complicated, but don’t let what you see on this website make you think it’s really representative of how all LSU people are IRL.

I guess that is why donghorn talks about A&M in their official school fight song. No connection at all.

God you are stupid. And y’all make it so easy to make you look stupid

Honestly Texas doesn’t even need to try to make y’all look stupid. It just happens naturally at A&M. I mean look at the developments down there over the past month.

Which we only sing that one lyric when playing Aggy.

While anm has over half their fight song dedicated to THE UNIVERSITY which you cult members sing every single week regardless of who you play.

Aggies write their own jokes.

BYI Buster, you’re not doing a very good job of making other look stupid while continuing your cult worship.

They also mention Oklahoma.

Is Georgia tech the true rival to Alabama? The tide mention them in their fight song, too

Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck!
Hullabaloo, Caneck! Caneck!
Good-bye to Texas University
So long to the Orange and the White
Good luck to the dear old Texas Aggies
They are the boys that show the real old fight
"The eyes of Texas are upon you..."
That is the song they sing so well
So good-bye to Texas University
We're going to beat you all to--
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem
Rough Tough! Real Stuff! Texas A&M!

when you take out the lyrics about The UNIVERSITY you’re left with nothing but jibberish. Chug-gar-roo-gar-rem haha what the hell does that translate to in English.

This is the answer.

Classic case of “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”.

Also,

The fact that this years Texas-OU game was an absolute war caused both fan bases to momentarily show respect to each other out of sheer exhaustion of emotion in the moment.

But to be clear, ou sucks.

I don't think that about any fanbases based upon what I read here. This is the internet.

Yes, in a respectful and hard-fought sense. Historically, the hate was directed more towards Hogs. Not sure if that will be renewed now. The weird A&M trolling I only see on boards like this. Nobody in Austin spends any time thinking about CS.
