The Four BEST Teams

Not “Most Deserving”. I get the heartbreak but the playoff was started for this reason. So that a weak conference champion would not get in over a better team. If you want to argue that the committee hasn’t done that in the past that’s fine but that’s on the past committee not doing their job not the current one doing theirs. If you want to go by who deserves it then they should have put criteria in there that dictates that.

If you are one of the best, you are inherently one of the most deserving

The playoff, like all things, was started to generate more revenue

A multi billion dollar sport with no clear path to a title. Criteria is undefined, subjective, and subject to change from year to year, so nobody can ever know exactly what the committee will look for in deciding playoff spots.
But somehow the big money brands consistently get in, while smaller brands don't.
Hmmm.

Look I can't stand Bama or Georgia but no one can convince me they shouldn't be in the top 4 and maybe they are the best two now.

If the exact same situation that happened to Florida State happened to you your fans would burn down a hospital

Gumps lost to Texas by two scores.
Not a best team, period.
Imagine when you lose to them again...

Bama barely beats the Vandy of the west, Arkansas at home
Gets blown the frick out by Texas at home
Then needs a miracle and ref help to beat Auburn on last seconds of the game.
How can you possibly believe Bama is one of the best four teams? They just aren't.

The four best teams are Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State. Those are the four teams that would be favored on a neutral field against everyone else.
The four most deserving teams are Michigan, Washington, Florida State, and Texas.
The frustrating thing about the CFP Committee is the way that mix and mash criteria, applying objective standards in some spots and subjective standards in another without any consistency whatsoever.
Also, in my opinion, it SHOULD NOT be the four “best teams.” Alabama could have lost to Arkansas and Auburn if a few plays had gone differently and still be one of the four best teams. “Best teams”, as far as power rankings and talent evaluations go, are about predicting future results and have less to do with results on the field.

; gumps out of order; espn out of order, play off committee out of order; CF playoffs out of order; It’s all out of order!
That must hv been a massive pay out Gumps. Congratulations

Four best teams are arguably Bama, Georgia, Missouri, LSU. None of these teams deserved to make it though.

How do we know that Washington is better than tOSU and Michigan is better than UGA?

the four best teams would have included georgia. texas or even washington with their zero losses would not have made it. bama is one of the four best, but they made the playoffs specifically because it would be ridiculous not to include the sec champ

BAMA needed a Kick Six level miracle to beat a six-loss team who had just had their stool pushed in at home by New Mexico Fricking State.
Sitcherass down.
