Kelly made the CFP in 2018 and 2020

Why is this always parroted?

Was Saban a cultural fit at LSU? Is he at Bama? Kiffin at Ole Miss?

Bottom line, if a coach is winning, nobody gives a shite.

Funnily enough BK is a politician and there’s maybe not a head coaching job in college football more political than LSU.

Kelly would be a tie with Dabo for biggest beneficiary of expansion to 12 teams.

Les Miles was very good his first few years at LSU until offenses evolved and Miles didn't. That was his downfall. And Orgeron just hit the football lottery in 2019. So I guess in theory Kelly could hit the football lottery and luck into a NC but the odds of lightning striking twice are super slim.
This makes no sense whatsoever.

Whew, Good thing it has struck 3 times already.

When LSU hired Kelly I thought it was a great hire, for opposing teams. He's not a bad coach. He's a pretty good coach, but not elite. Never has been and never will be. He has a long history of not being able to win the big game and he gets outcoached in the 2nd half a lot. Again, he's a decent coach but not up to LSU standards.

Signed, Miles & Orgeron.

I can’t wait to see Bama without Saban. That fan base is so fricked after Saban leaves. Suicides will be up in the state of Alabama.

Like many LSU fans, I'm thrilled with the offense, disappointed with the defense. Can't complain too much with BK. I intentionally used the word concern because that's what the constant posting regarding LSU smells like. It's like you're trying to convince yourselves LSU will stay pretty good by saying it over and over.

Because it's true.

quote:

Was Saban a cultural fit at LSU?

No. That's why he left after 5 seasons.

quote:

Is he at Bama?

West Virginia isn't all that different culturally than Alabama.

quote:

Kiffin at Ole Miss?

Lane Kiffin grew up traveling around with his father because of his career. He isn't culturally tied to any one place.

Brian Kelly grew up on the east Bank of the Mystic River North of Boston. The only thing he shares in common with anyone from Louisiana is he's catholic.
Cultural ties and commonality are directly linked to sustained success.
Do you think Kirby Smart would be as passionate about coaching the Washington Huskies? He'd always be dreaming of coaching uga. That would impede his success.
So you're right, the fans don't care as long as the coach wins, but the coach cares.

There was college football prior to 2000. No lie.

When Saban leaves , so will the rest of you fricking critters. Spoiled with the best coach ever and want to talk shite about everyone else. Enjoy your impending mediocrity.

How is an occasional trip to the CFP not competing for a national title?

LSU won't sniff any of that with 3-6 losses every year under Kelly.

Nope, I guess in your opinion, no coach at LSU other than ED has been a cultural fit.

Nope again, had nothing to do with culture fit.

Nick Saban on his reasons for leaving and regretting decision.

"And I know a lot of LSU fans think I left for whatever reasons, but I left because I wanted to be a pro coach, or thought I wanted to be a pro coach. We loved LSU. We worked hard to build the program. If there was one thing professionally that I would do over again, it would've been not to leave LSU."

As much as I would like to agree, I can’t.
Alabama and West Virginia are nothing a like.

I can't wait until Saban retires in 3 months and all of Alabama "Alabamas" each other. Board will definitely be a better place

Orgeron won a natty here

Yep, when the top SEC west team were down. I have said this time and time again. Kelly is a good HC but will never win a championship at LSU. This year he has 3 losses already. See what I did here? Nothing has changed for Kelly.
