re: Kent State 7 @ LSU 10 Final

I missed most of opening weekend. What happened to Stanfield?
You cannot deny what McMahon‘s record was at Murray State. He is a very good basketball coach. The problem isn’t him. It has always been LSU.

Please explain this to me like I’m a child. How is it LSU and not him?
Haven’t seen Cooper pitch.

What type of pitcher is he? Power? Location?

Decided to handle the deck after closing.

Received 3 different quotes that were all around $15-18K. These quotes also let us customize way more than the builder was offering.

I'm only asking for foundation details that would be needed. Quality handrails and steps are time consuming and pretty expensive if they're done correctly with workmanship.

Deck will be supported by 6x6/4x6 posts. Handrails are wire rope with a trex top cap. There will be privacy slats installed below with a gate to access under deck.

When I priced up using weathershield it ended up being close to $25 a square foot just for the material and fasteners. That's not including closer deck joist spacing. Mine's only a foot or so off the ground. At most. It would have been cheaper to put down concrete and travertine pavers down so I opted for wood decking. It's really hard to tell you that that price is high considering we don't know any of the details of how high the deck is, how long it is and wide. Foundations can run up a price. Hope that helps.

The deck is 8’ x 16’, approximately 4’ off ground on the edge that ties into the back porch and 6’ off ground on the opposite edge.

everyone here says yes, how does that help you get your deck built?

I could be off base on the cost to build a deck and I accept the price? Or someone with better info than me says it’s high as hell and I decide to handle it with another contractor.

They won’t provide plans, claim it’s proprietary.

Price Check on Trex Deck

We’re in the process of building a new home with what I’ll call a “high-end track builder”. They aren’t a DR Horton or a DSLD but utilize a track system regarding selections.

So far they have been decent to work with, with the exception of a few minor changes that they wouldnt work with us on. Build quality to date seems to be good.

As you can imagine, with any change request they hammer you with an egregious change order that’s marked up to hell and back. I’ve been fine with these as it’s minor upgrades that don’t amount to a ton and allows us to wrap it into the mortgage.

To my question. The home sits on a slope and will require egress off the back porch (built into home). They claim their only plan was to provide railing and a set of steps off the porch. Which I feel is bullshite for the type of home we’re building, but that’s on me for not negotiating prior to going under contract.

We requested pricing to have a roughly 120 sqft deck built off the porch. They came back with a price of $25k. It is trex composite material with rope wire style railing, privacy slats below and gate access to under the deck.

I feel this pricing is extremely steep, entire home was built for $250/sqft. Steps and one railing was already planned to be included due to them having to provide some sort of egress.

TL;DR

Received price of $25k to have a 120sqft deck installed. Is this high?

I think CMM has had some bad luck, and made some mistakes, but I see signs of improvement. I think he is a good coach with potential to be very good. I’m glad Verge is taking a wait and see approach. If he continues to improve throughout the year, then I think we would be foolish to fire him. One big thing I will look for is improvement on breaking pressures. Thomas will help, but that should be a team effort. He has apparently not worked on that, or if he has, the players aren’t translating the practice to the game. CMM needs to get that figured out. If CMM continues to learn from his mistakes, he will either have success here or elsewhere very soon.

What do you consider improvement? It’s year 4 and we’re talking about how to break a press? The part of our fan base that believes CMM should stick around is mind boggling. You have other programs that have turned things around in one year. Why are we contemplating giving him another year?

If he goes on some magical run and makes the tournament, maybe you consider keeping him. Anything shy of the tournament and he’s canned.

We are moving out of state next year. Wondering if we should sell off our home in the 225 area or lease it out. We owe about 175K on it. Zillow says recent sales in the neighborhood have been in the 350K range.

Going through this exact situation currently. We moved with the intention to keep our rental property. After a year I’ve decided to sell it. Too much headache and didn’t want to go the property manager route.
Would St. Aug typically cost less than Centipede?

If this thing pushes 10, we’re dumping, right?
Appreciate the insight.

Any idea which is most/least expensive?

Thomas playing today?

ESPN has LSU favored by 1.5, he must be playing?

I can’t see LSU winning this game without Thomas.
Just seeing this thread. What did y’all pay per sq ft? Building a new house and trying to check the builders price.
