It amazes me how you guys are so consumed with all things LSU. If we're so average, why all the concern? It's creepy.

How fun and ironic will it be when LSU fires BK after his third 3+ loss season in 2025 and then hire a well rested Jimbo.

He'll be refreshed and re-energized

Well William, glad you decided to rejoin us. I thought maybe you was gone for good this time but I guess the 'big' win yesterday over the mighty Gators was enough to bring you out of hiding, even if it is under another name.

No concern at all. Just glad we're not in LSU shoes right now. Stuck with a pretty good, but not championship caliber coach for years to come because of the guaranteed contract. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the SEC championship game last year because it's the last one you'll go to for a long time.

How do you know this considering this is only the second season of his career at a school capable of winning a national title?

Kelly really scares you guys. Georgia is going to whip your arse and end the Saban era; be ready to lose.

You don't think ND is capable of winning at NC with the right coach? I think Nick Saban or Urban Meyer or Kirby Smart would have won a NC at Notre Dame. And some other coaches too not named Brian Kelly.

In 2023? No.

Maybe Saban but that’s it.

Kelly did a great job at Notre Dame; the program was in bad shape after the Weiss and Willlingham disasters. Saban and Smart are very good coaches, but they would not win a nationa championship at Notre Dame given the academic restrictions. Kelly asked them to relax the standards to a degree and was shot down.

When LSU hired Kelly I thought it was a great hire, for opposing teams. He's not a bad coach. He's a pretty good coach, but not elite. Never has been and never will be. He has a long history of not being able to win the big game and he gets outcoached in the 2nd half a lot. Again, he's a decent coach but not up to LSU standards.

Isn't the occasional trip to the CFP competing for a NC?

I agree. He did a good job at ND, but competition in the SEC is more fierce when you have to get through Bama and Georgia every year. And while he did a good job at ND he could never win the big game. It's just his history outside of division 3 football.

You're not seriously competing for a NC until you've made it to the final 6. And Kelly's ceiling is a trip to the CFP with a first round exit. Not sure how hard this is for corndogs to understand.

You’re not sure how someone doesn’t understand some generic stance that a random guy on the internet takes because that’s not what he said in the OP? You sound really dumb lol.

He already has as many wins against top 10 teams at LSU as he had at Notre Dame.

Y’all are acting like the ND and LSU jobs are equivalent, they aren’t.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Kelly has never made the CFP. He made the BCS game once and got annihilated.

He appears to be the same coach now that he was then. His saving grace will be the expansion to 12 teams. He likely will make the playoffs some years with the expansion. We will see if he has success. He has never in the past, winning exactly 0 “major bowls”, playoff games, or BCS games during his career.
