His offenses sucked badly though. He may have been the worst coach ever for that side of the ball. The offense sucked worse under him than at anytime of my lifetime and I am old. They could not complete a pass vs air, no defense required.
It was bad, but Moorhead's offense was just as bad. His take on RPO confused the hell out of the offense. I imagine the same issues persist at Akron. Croom's teams just had antiquated 1970s concepts that were ridiculously easy to defend.

Botch Jones had past success before Tennessee.
Chad was terrible at SMU before Arkansas.

Pittman is Bert level.

His players never bought in and they refused to play hard.
North Texas happened and so did Western Kentucky.
His family never moved to Fayetteville and went out of state to watch his son on Friday nights in Texas.
He wasn't hired by an AD but a committee of former razorback players from different sports.
It just shows you why Arkansas football has sucked for so long because of the gross incompetence.

BONUS Mizzou All-Time, The dark ages of woody Widenhofer and Bob Stull from 85 to 93.
Correct on Widenhofer, and he was an SEC coach, so I think he's worthy of going on this list.

Drinkwitz still needs to get a few more dubs this year to avoid this list
That is flat out ridiculous. Given what was left to clean up post-Odom (#1: poor QB room, and otherwise thin roster, #2) scholarship reductions and recruiting restrictions post-NCAA penalties, #3: Covid) and how he's turned around not only the games themselves, but also recruiting, he is MILES away from being on any list like this. He was 36 years old when hired with only one year of head coaching experience before being thrown into the SEC meat grinder. He's only going to keep improving.
I'm sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong with that take.

Alabama had to play David Palmer at Qb for much of the game
And yet some Alabama fans are completely losing their minds over Jalen Milroe. So many Alabama fans have not been around long enough to know what truly horrendous quarterback play looks like.

Morris was the worst I've ever seen. Arkansas deserved way better than him.

The fans are just victims in a cruel game.
No reasonable Arkansas fan is asking for moon and the stars but decent teams that don't get embarrassed at home by North Texas, Western Kentucky and Liberty.
That has been the problem. Before the season starts each year, Arkansas football is pumped up and then lose to a Colorado State and the wheels have already fallen off before SEC play begins.
A vicious, unending cycle.

Croom was not one of the worst. He actually cleaned up our program and built the foundation that has carried the State football program over the last 14 years. His record does not reflect that but he did a tremendous job resetting the entire program.
Additionally he had a 2-3 record against Alabama and was the coach the last time we beat Bama.
So no Coach Croom does not belong on that list.

Croom beat Alabama in 2006 AND 2007. The only loss Saban has to MSU at Bama.

Ed Orgeron absolutely deserves to be on this list. What he did from 2005-2007 was unprecedented awfulness.
What he did in 2020 and 2021 was bigger unprecedented awfulness......

Replace Croom with Arnett
Croom inherited a dumpster fire
Arnett was handed a top 25 team
