I like our WRs. Definitely been a bright spot so far.

Not sure how you can blame the receivers for getting wide open and the QB either missing them or having no clue where they are.

You left off Bond (10 catches, 152 yds, 1 TD)

Kinda hard to judge the receiver play with this OC/QB/OL combo

OL -> QB -> WR. That’s the issue. OL has be abysmal

Bond was recruited as a Safety per 247 and why I left him off.

This isn't just about this year. We had Bryce Young last year.

Why hasn't this program recruited an explosive playmaker at WR? You can make the argument that it has been three years since we have.

Bama has whiffed on several positions for years now. The chickens are coming home to roost this year.

Not much difference, but Benson has had 4 catches for 38 yards.

Thanks for that correction. I will say it's too early to tell about the Freshmen, three games in.

I saw a few dropped passes Saturday that were frustrating. Because when the shyte throws finally got there, they didn't reel them in. I hope that's just a fluke.

I think everyone talks about OC/DC but no one notices the staff and analyst turnover we’ve had.

When guys like Sark have taken other jobs it hasn’t just been them leaving.

They’ve been taking our analysts and promoting them which IMO has really hurt some of our evals over the past few years at QB, WR, etc.

My guess is whoever was doing tape eval work at WR/QB/etc got scooped up and is now somewhere else and whoever took over is nowhere near as good.

The entire offense is a train wreck (but it's definitely talent and not coaching *rolls eyes*).

Folks praise the WRs because they were wide open on a couple of plays against a Big-12 defense but they still aren't creating enough separation to be optimistic about.

As long as Rees is here, this entire offense will lack an identity and direction. We'll seldom see explosive plays and will struggle mightily against teams with a pulse. I just hope it doesn't take four years for people to face the reality as it did with Golding. It won't get much better and you can bookmark this post.

Not only that, but arguably our best non-QB playmakers on offense the last 3 years (Jameson, Burton, Gibbs) were transfers. We went from having freshmen phenoms on a yearly basis to having to depend on the portal. That’s despite all of the offensive talent we’ve put in the league over the last several years.

It was kind of a mystery why elite WRs weren’t knocking our door down after 2021 to come catch balls from Bryce when it was clear didn’t have much beyond Jameson and Metchie.

Exactly. We are striking out on recruits and aren’t coaching anyone.

Easier to grab already coached up players from the Transfer portals.

Bond was recruited to Bama as a WR. Not sure if CNS is looking at 247 to see where people are supposed to be playing.

a Big-12 defense

Decade old talking point. The defenses in the Big 12 are no worse than any other these days. Actually if you look up total defense stats, a Big 12 team, Iowa State, is ranked above any SEC team.

BOB gets a bum rap. When he had two healthy, good WRs with Jamo and Mechie his offense was humming. Wiggins deserves more blame for the offense's woes than BOB. Rees can't hold BOB's headset.

I’m sure Texas has been recruiting to compete in SEC next year. Their defense looked legit against us.

I think Bond and Burton are above-average Wideouts myself.

Bond looks to be greatly improved and a soon-to-be star with the right QB.
