Like hiring an OL coach wasn't risky?

I'm sure someone did but either Arkansas wasn't pursuing them hard enough or just ignored.

A good G5 coach making $900K/yr will gladly take a $5M/Yr SEC job where, even if he gets fired after 3 yrs, he will be generational wealthy due to the $10M+ buyout, plus earned salary.

I want Dan Lanning, but we won’t ever be that serious.

I will take Lebby. Had we done this last year, we could have been in the Rhule sweepstakes.

Lebby is a good coordinator but unproven as a HC. It's still quite a bit of a crapshoot, that you could hit paydirt on or not. You can't miss in the next hire.

Guys like Cignetti, Traylor, Jonathan Smith, Chadwell, etc are your targets.

Willie Fritz is also a guy who could come in an probably stabilize the program again, but he is also not. A longterm solution at his age.

Give me Chadwell, Smith, Lebby all day. And Cignetti could be an interesting hire, although I'm not sure he's quite ready for an SEC gig.

People will want someone "with SEC ties" or "coaching roots in the south" like it's still 1995 and there's no internet, social media, NIL, and transfer portal to work with that's completely changed recruiting.

You get an exciting hire with a winning brand and the recruits will come. Pretty sure Deion had zero ties to recruiting in Colorado, the West and Midwest and he completely flipped his roster with incoming additions. You get a great coach that knows how to do more with less and wins games first, the rest will fall into place.

It’s as stable as it’s going to get, they aren’t quitting games. They’ve fought in every game we have played.

Every loss is directly on a head coach that doesn’t know what to do, combined with not recruiting a serviceable offensive line.

Will never coach in the south again after Tennessee tried to Lynch him for being a pedophile. He doesn’t want that smoke.

I'm down with the Chadwell baw. He makes 4 a year at Liberty through 2030? Can't try to lowball the guy.

Have you seen his contract?

He can’t leave, and get anything close to that good.

You can't succeed, in the SEC, if you don't have previous SEC ties. Nick Saban never would've had the success he's had at both LSU and Bama if it weren't for his previous stints in the SE...oh...never mind.
