Post Bryant Bama was certainly a swoon. Saying otherwise doesn’t line up with facts. Stallings was a quick uptick but they were pretty mediocre otherwise.

Coaching man. The only real difference has been the nature of coaches and tenure.
UGA has had 4 good coaches, 1 great coach, and a bunch of slappy’s. Butts, Dooley, & Richt coached collectively for half century. All three were good not great. Woodruff was good but his tenure too short to be great.
LSU has had a lot of good coaches but I was surprised that Miles and Cholly Mac were the only ones who lasted a decade. LSU seems to have more willing to cut bait sooner.

Still won the SEC with Mike Dubose and probably would've made the playoffs that year.

Scary how close UGA and LSU are historically.

Honest question. I am a little confused by some of your posts and I was wondering...are you a Florida fan?

Georgia has the longest bowl streak in the nation.

That's because we have much, much higher SAT / ACT scores and GPAs.

Both schools have great mascots that have since been pilfered by lesser institutions seeking to emulate them.
Neither Georgia nor LSU were truly the first schools to use "Bulldogs" and "Tigers," but they are certainly the most relevant ones to bear those names. And the vast majority of schools that harbor those same mascots copied them from UGA and LSU (no offense to Yale or Princeton, the original inspos).

Wait, we have 8 football national titles? Let’s go!
WTF is going on here. I thought we had 4, but now claiming 8. Calling all Gumps...

Georgia and LSU should do what Bama does. Claim national championships no matter how obscure they might be. If they can claim Fat Bubbas BBQ and polling service why can’t we

That’s honorable.
Leaving 4 titles apiece on the table to not appear desperate.
LSU and Uga don’t retroclaim.
Others do.

Swoon? They still won like 5 SEC titles 1983-2007.
They have 3 in that period, and two of those were in clearly very down years for the SEC (one was a split title and the other was a Mike DuBose coached, 3-loss team).

No joke. We also have the best football team in history….& the best “unclaimed”
Football team in history (1908).
- “1908 The Tigers were coached by Edgar Wingard and posted a perfect 10–0 record, outscoring opponents 442 to 11.”

Another similarity is both are in states with great football talent and are without another in-state SEC school to compete against for recruits.
Both of their main historical rivals Tulane and Georgia Tech were once in the SEC.
