Ohio State is a stretch.

Ohio State was a field goal away from winning one this year, and we're only going to improve as Day learns how to be a head coach.

I think you can pare the list down to

UGA
Bama
LSU
Ohio State
Clemson

Texas would be borderline. They’re starting to get better but have a ways to go.

Michigan needs to at least win a playoff game before I’m sold on them.

I think this is the list

Michigan
Texas?
Oklahoma?
USC?

Michigan is like Tennessee, is this a fluke, or will they really challenge
USCrubbers is not even back yet
Oklahoma is in better shape than Utx but they are SEC meat grinder bound
Utx is always over hyped, they will do well just to see who wins vs TAMU

I think if you view it by who will feed from their conference

ACC - Clemson, Florida State, and Notre Dame (if the other 2 are out)
B1G - Ohio State and maybe Michigan
B12 - TCU but they will be in a G5 after OU and UTx depart
SEC - Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and Auburn with UT, UF, and maybe OU as maybe
PAC - Somebody will get in but probably won't win it all
G5's - Same as the PAC, somebody will get in, but not win it all

Get a solid defense who won't blow two separate 14 point leads and we'll see how Day develops.

Georgia gave up 41 points with half our offense out.

Just pointing out how foolish it is for you to talk about defense after we bent yours over.

why is southern cal and texas on this list? Neither has made a playoff, and only socal this year got close.

LSU had 2019 but other than that hasnt been close.

UGA, Bama, Ohio State, Clemson (yuck), Oklahoma, Michigan, have been the mainstays. outside of that some teams are one off

I think the point is who can get the talent to win it. LSU has had the talent to win it pretty much for the last 20 years. LSU is #2, only behind Bama, with former players in the NFL. UGA and Ohio State are up there with Bama and LSU as the clear top 4.

Now, coaching at LSU has not always been up to par, lots of bogey's to the dreaded snowman.

They are the only team that can consistently come close to matching UGA and Bama talent wise which is why I put them on the list.

That said, they haven't gotten it done in coming up on 10 years now.

Their injury stuff this past year really was a shame for them, because if you add in both those RBs and JSN.........that team probably wins the title.

Obviously injuries happen and it's part of the game, but that was a real kick in the balls.

You say that, but the game I watched was about UGA missing several FG's earlier in the game that would have put it away quicker. The UGA missed FG's allowed tOSU to stay in, try admitting that part of the narrative first.

UGA, Bama, Ohio State are probably the only ones to include. LSU catches lightning in a bottle every 4 years or so, but they aren’t a threat yearly.

The thread is "Teams with legit shot to win CFP every year."

Ohio State is solidly on that list.

Georgia fans continuing to push this won't make it true. Imagine thinking an additional 3 points in a 1 point game would've been enough to "put it away."

Even if we assume Georgia makes those, and we then follow the game to its conclusion, we're very likely looking at Georgia attempting a last second field goal for the win.

But hey, you wouldn't be Insecure U if you weren't trying to rationalize your best win of the season.

LSU doesn't have a shot every year. More like every 3-5

Nothing says "in better shape" quite like losing head-to-head 49-0 and having a worse-ranked recruiting class

Preseason unranked --> end of season ranked is "overhyped"?

Sorry dude, outside of 2019 LSU has been largely irrelevant on the national scene for 12 years now. They are squarely in the list of program capable of getting there though.

I could be wrong but pretty sure UGA missed at least 2 FG's just in the 2nd half and think they missed on in the first

2 FG = 6 points
(meaning tOSU must go for the end zone, not a FG at the end)

3 FG's = 9 points
(meaning tOSU can not win even with a late TD)

Were you watching the game?

Best win of the season for Georgia was probably against UT when the Vols still had Hooker.
