I'm in my 60s and have been watching college football since I was a kid, and I have never seen anything like that. When Stephen Garcia went crazy and beat undefeated and defending national champion Alabama in 2010 it was a huge upset but it was a close game. I've heard all the trash talk but I'm honestly asking what the fans of the 2 schools think happened. And to the Vol fans, sorry about Hooker and praying for a full recovery.

Vol defense was awful, Rattler played the game of his life.

Here's what happened...exactly what I was pointing out wouldn't happen on August 1st.

quote:

So, they think that Tennessee is more likely to lose at Columbia than they are either to UF or Bama in Knoxville or at Baton Rouge or Athens. Also...Tennessee will be coming off playing against Missouri in Knoxville, while USCe will be coming off playing Florida in Gainesville.

Rattler finally lived up to the hype, throwing dimes.

Crowd definitely affected the game.

Tennessee did score 38 points so they weren't exactly "shut down".

It was just a career night for Rattler. And beamer piled it on a little, which I would normally criticize but in this scenario, it was the right move.

Most of us are still trying to wrap our head around what just happened and wondering where it has been all year.

Vols played like they didn’t care while UofSC played the game of the season. Upsets happen.

Every year fans fall into this trap.

"You honestly think we'll beat insert good team and then somehow lose to insert crap team?"

LSU did this pretty much every year in the 80s when we had a good team. Tulane, MSU, Miami of freaking Ohio...

That's why winning an NC is hard to do. Bunch of teenagers who don't always show up, and then a bunch of teenagers who decide to be world beaters for a night.

Tennessee was literally playing for a playoff spot, how could Heupel not have them ready to roll?

The only thing I've come up with is the Tennessee players took South Carolina and the points and bet every dime of their NIL money.

Such a bullshite Vol response. "We played like we didn't care". No, your team got their shite pushed in, plain and simple.

Not a troll.
I tend to think UT has to learn to win and deal with expectations. There was a little bit of a hangover after losing to UGA and they were down on themselves and weren't paying attention to a Carolina team that actually has talent and was still angry after losing to Mizzou.
Heupel will learn from this and continue to develop as a coach, the program will mature under him. We'll see how it goes.

For every Georgia fan who is talking shite about UT...just think back to 2001-2009 and how happy you are that Willie Martinez isn't your secondary coach (or God forbid, Defensive Coordinator) anymore. That MF-er is the gift that keeps on giving.

There’s no real explanation. It was one of the most improbable games in sec history

Cancer in the locker room. Our captain on D (Jeremy Banks) decided to fight our Captain on O (Hooker) over NIL. Why right now? Because Tennessee can't have nice things. Just inexcusable
