USC is a bigger brand than Oklahoma. Your own coach even said so.

Don’t you have some mandatory Pronoun and CRT class to take? Please exit to the rear and take the Longhorns with you. Those figs are a better fit in the B10.

The idea that Texas and Oklahoma won't significantly increase viewership in Texas because ATM is beyond stupid.

The idea that Oklahoma "only" brings the OKC market is also beyond stupid. OU will be another SEC team that brings eyeballs from all across the nation because they are one of the most watched teams in the country. Mostly because people want to see them get beat

You are correct. Both OU and Texas will bring eyeballs nationwide. I live in Arizona, and surprisingly see lots of people sporting OU and Texas gear on themselves and their vehicles in my travels out here. Even occasionally see some Texas Tech stuff. I rarely see anything for A&M. I don't see crap for USC or UCLA, and I live in the next state over. The PAC does not have fans that bleed for their schools like the SEC and old Big 12..I'd be willing to bet USC's highest rated games in the last decade was when they faced Texas twice...Texas and OU will have lots of TV sets tuning in all over either due to hatred or fandom..

The SEC is going to come out ahead on this deal.

Who doesn't love watching Oklahoma or Texas get their arse kicked? Nobody GAF about USC or UCLA.

LA football market vs DFW, Houston, Austin, San Antonio & OKC?

The ratings in DFW, Houston, Austin and San Antonio were already sky high. Just look them up. Lots of jealous tea sips watched pretty much every Aggy game. Adding tu only helps marginally.

And the only reason UC went to the playoff was that we were down last season and UC played no one. You lost what little credibility you have.

We beat Notre Dame on their field and we would have beat DUH Ohio State on their field if they had the guts to play us. Notre Dame was a better team than Oregon so don't give me that shite that we did not play anyone.

Los Angeles doesn't watch college football.

not about the local market. think about the people in the west, midwest and northeast who will go "oh man the trojans are ranked top 10 let me watch this" when if it's ole miss/arky/mich st/whoever they'll keep flipping the channel.

It is hard to believe they don't understand this. I know some of it is just denial on their part but I am not beginning to think you are right and they lack business sense. The B1G has planted its flag in every major market outside of the south and it may be only a matter of time before they plant it down there.

1. The Midwest is a frozen shite hole in which even it’s most populated states are swiftly losing population. People simply don’t want to live in places like Ohio and Michigan anymore - Detroit and Cleveland aren’t exactly cosmopolitan meccas.

2. Most of those Midwestern migrants are moving to the South. The South is the fastest growing region in the country, has the largest population by far, the most major metro areas, and the best recruits.

3. The fact that you think Rutgers and UCLA is “dominating every major market outside of the South” well illustrates your ignorance and general stupidity (which you’ve evidenced a great deal in your time obsessing over the SEC in this forum). UCLA and USC both suck, that will not change in the coming years.

4. The SEC, again, is located in the most populated, fastest growing, best recruiting region in the country. It does not need to, nor does it want to expand beyond the South. Our next additions will likely be UNC, UVA, Duke, Miami, FSU, Clemson, VT, etc. Why the frick would we want Boston College or some Midwestern school?

5. The Midwest is a dying region, and thus the B10 had to expand beyond it as people are leaving that frozen tundra. Cities like St. Louis and Indy simply cannot compete with Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, etc. regarding recruiting.

The SEC will continue to dominate - the B10 is too top heavy. Since the turn of the century, SEVEN different future SEC teams have won a natty (UGA, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Texas Oklahoma). The B10 now has only two (and previously had one, prior to USC’s addition).

We look forward to continuing to make the Midwest and West Coast our bitch. By the way, people in Los Angeles think you Midwesterners are a passel of lowbrow hicks. I’m sure they’d rather travel to places like Austin, Miami, and Nashville than ducking Columbus, Ohio.

In any case, we appreciate your unwavering obsession and inferiority complex displayed by your daily posting on SEC Rant.

This is Pawl in a nutshell. He's not a serious annalist of college football. Never has been. He's a good talk show entertainer that is able to rile up his low IQ regular listenership on a daily basis; iow, good lowbrow shits and giggles on par with rasslin'. Without his callers to play off of, there would be nothing there.

I will have you know it has been in the '90s up here, tempered by some cooling thundershowers.

The schools you listed will never join the SEC. UNC, UV, and the U will join the B1G when we plant our flag in the south. And I doubt the expansion ends there.

USC has been down but does not suck. They proved that by taking everything they wanted from Oklahoma. Riley had rebuilt the Sooners into playoff contenders. Let's see where they go from here.

You keep harping on past achievements but the game has just changed. Players are unionizing and Kevin Warren and the B1G are leading by meeting with their representatives while Sankey and the good ole boys in Birmingham continue to play checkers.

Sorry Aggie, I only got 2 or 3 A&M games out here in the far west on basic cable. I get every single game Texas plays minus the ones on the Longhorn Network. You are not as much a national brand as you think. I get every single OU game too. Maybe they won't add much more Eyes in Texas, but they will everywhere else; especially playing SEC teams.

The only thing that's going to beat out Texas or OU playing any of the Blue Bloods in the SEC may be Ohio State vs USC...

Finebaum would come out as a woman if he thought it’d get SEC fans to talk about him. Paula Finebaum.

This is not worth the digital ink.

what I have been saying on here is the Lincoln Riley factor is huge. He is the perfect coach for them.
Yea, Herman was the perfect coach for Texas. Mullen was the perfect coach for Florida. And well, both were better vs Joe Burrow than Riley.

You're an OSU fan. Your conference is boring. OSU gets their shite kicked in vs the SEC. Why are you here ?

The larger point is that Texas fans will be watching Texas in the SEC and not the Big XII. And Texas fans will tune in other SEC games as opposed to Big XII games.

Maybe Texas fans watch Aggie games like Telefax is claiming, but I doubt it. They are probably watching a Big XII game to see how it is going to affect Texas standing in the conference as opposed to a random Aggie game.

Texas in the SEC will have more fans watching Aggie games for the fact that they share a conference again.

I will agree about all of this looking good on paper as long as Riley does what he was hired to do. I believe he will.
