I was anticipating the Big 10 fans would pounce on your comments.

I see what you mean. Not sure I would be bragging about doing business with the Chinese but the Big 10 and people up north seem to be spellbound by the Chinese.

The more I look into it, the more it appears that the B1G should've added Oregon over UCLA.

Los Angeles is a pro sports town but when USC is good, the city tunes in. The one thing I agree with Finebaum and what I have been saying on here is the Lincoln Riley factor is huge. He is the perfect coach for them. Plus it may be the most fertile recruiting ground in the nation. A huge get for the B1G.

Florida has been and always will be the mecca of college football recruiting

I've heard this parroted since the move was announced. Can anyone provide actual factual data this claim is true?

Probably because the Chinese look a lot like B1G fanboys?

Yeah the state of CA only has 29 blue chippers in the 2023 class (they had twice that 5 years ago).

To save face you picked up 2 on the West Coast but they will be more like Nebraska leaving the Big 8 / Big 12 to die in the B1G. . . . As further proof, B1G has not enhanced the brands of schools already added (Michigan State, Penn State, or Nebraska) and I can see the same dead end road for the 2 Cali schools.

Although time is running out, I believe that Nebraska could still come back. A lot of people attribute Nebraska’s woes to leaving for the Big Ten, but the Huskers’ biggest mistake was repeatedly firing coaches that won—namely, Solich (.753) and Pelini (.713).

Now some observers might be tempted to point out that neither won the big one during their tenure, but neither did Bob Stoops after his second season. And yet, OU retained Stoops and continued to win 10+ games during most seasons, and that kept the Sooners in the top 10 and relevant to recruits and the media.

Of course, losing pipelines to Texas recruits hurt, but canning coaches that won is what ultimately did them in. If the Huskers want to return to prominence, they need to find a winner and keep him. With their increased revenue, they should be able to attract an elite staff, as well as upgrading their facilities for recruits. I’m not saying that they will return; I’m just saying that it’s possible…at least I hope. Seeing Nebraska down like this just doesn’t feel right.

While you may be right about not giving the coaches enough time, Nebraska was a running school and folks just don't run as much. Coupled by they now must play boring teams instead of the old Big 8 and B 12 schools. CFB is not the pros and regionalism still holds more sway.

Los Angeles doesn't watch college football. It's a pro sports town, like all other major cities. Finenbaum is a moron.

LA watches USC when they are good. USC football will always top the Rams or Chargers.

Viewers for all Rams and Chargers games last year were between 15 and 20 million each. In week 2 last year...when USC was still 1-0...their game with Stanford only drew 1.5 million.

The South watches the SEC even when their teams aren't good. Auburn and South Carolina both had losing conference records last year, and their game still out drew the USC-UCLA game by 200,000.

I remember when all the alleged experts were saying that UCLA hiring Chip Kelly was huge. His team couldn't even out draw Alcorn State the week before everyone else's opening night...when no one else was playing.

Chinese money spends just like American money. It would be huge if the B1G can make a deal with the Chinese.

Finebaum has his opinion and that is great but no way is USC and UCLA a better addition than OK and TX. People in Texas still watch U of Texas even though they suck and have for years. OK is a name that goes back a long way. In LA neither team there draws big at the gate. I have to think that also affects the number of eyeballs on the TV screen. An overlooked fact about LA, a huge percentage of the population in that area does not speak English at home. I don't think those folks are college football fans.

USC hasn't had a more perfect fit since Lane Kiffin.

Does Texas really watch Texas? The LHN was a big flop. ESPN lost hundreds of millions on it and could not wait to divest themselves of it.

I think ESPN made the mistake that all of Texas would follow the Longhorns like all of Ohio follows THE Ohio State University.
