He would have lost those too. He just can’t win when the pressure is on
I mean he did beat that UNC team and Jimbo lost to Houston so

Dabo!
He’s a great recruiter. He leads the Clemson program well. You said coach though, and he is not a very good football coach. He has leaned on Venables for years and Elliot as well. He’s just not very good at Xs and Os. I think Clemson is about to get a big dose of reality.

Jimbo has 4 BCS/NY6 wins. Brian had 6 losses!
You are going to hurt yourself if you keep up this contortionist act

Let’s see, Jimbo lost his starting QB, starting center (forced to play true fresh remainder of year), other OL injuries on an already young OL, starting CBs, best WR….
and finished 8-4 with a win over Bama, with a chance to win every game in the 4th Qtr.
Yeah, definitely a sucky coach…..

Hey Col. Ingus, I'm glad you got (and still have) Jimbo.
And I'm happy with Brian Kelly.
And most non-Aggies on this site would agree w/me...

4) Lincoln Riley - inherited program from Bob Stoops. Had an easy path to playoff most years but has gotten exposed every time except once.
5) Ryan Day - Same.
LOL the man is 35-4 and been to the CFB playoffs in 2 of his 3 years. If he inherited a "ferrari" he has certainly improved it with his recruitment and staff improvements. He fired his entire defensive staff last year except for the legendary DL coach, Larry Johnson and replaced them with incoming DC Jim Knowles, Safety coach Perry Eliano ( who coached cincys lockdown secondary), and CB coach Tim Walton from Jacksonville, whom Jalen Ramsey said was his best coach ever. Meyer never would have done that. If their defensive even improves slightly they will probably win the natty this year with that offense.

I believe that is certainly one reason....... He'll never be a big time winner at SC if he keeps Alex Grinch.

Nick Saban. He has NEVER won clean. If the deck is not stacked to his advantage with illegal recruiting and staff. He is a just another good coach.
NIL will expose this rather quickly.

The lack of understanding of defense coaching is part of why I say he never grew into th HC role. He also did not know the importance of special teams, and let desire to be play caller prevent him from adequate game management. Lots of times when he should have been yelling at the refs, he was buried in the sidelines doing play calling...
If you take him at his word, that he decided in an hour after the Okie State loss to take the USC job, this would have been his input at that time. 1 barely got third in a down year for Big 12, 2 could not get adequate results from the 2 #1 5 star QBs that he actually recruited, 3 his results had been on a downward trajectory , 4 his path to playoffs would be tougher InThe SEC.......After the loss to Okie State Riley’s future at Oklahoma did not look very good.......
However many believe he decided back in August when his agent first talked to USC. In that case people speculate Riley’s bad results in 2021 were due to him being checked out and already planning his USC moves.
Don’t know which is true . BUT the Oklahoma Offense was vastly better in the bowl game with Riley gone and Cale Gundy calling the plays....
