Other than score more points than them ( ), IMO:

Must play assignment, disciplined football, everyone must have their head in the game and on board with the game plan.

No boneheaded penalties

The DBs are going to have to play really, really well.

Must get pressure on Daniels and NOT lose contain.

Have to run the ball well. This will help Jalen and control the clock to keep LSU’s offense on the sideline.

Less than 10 penalties too

If we can make them score less points than us, that should help also.

Offense: convert 3rd downs.

Defense: get off the field on 3rd downs.

Special Teams: new punt returner.

I think the biggest key is TOP. If our offense can make sustained drives, and keep the ball out of the hands of LSU's offense, then our defense has to make fewer stops against one of the hottest offenses in the country... here's to hoping that we can run the ball at will against their trash-tier defense

3rd down defense.

1st down success on offense.

At least fair catching punts.

LSU is averaging 7.35 yards per rush on 3rd down.
Bama is averaging .68 yards per rush on 3rd down.

Plus territory and redzone D. If they get in the 30s we are in trouble

Convert red zone trips into TDs.

Stop the run.

Even or better in turnovers.

Low penalties.

Don't have consecutive 3 and outs.

We gotta make their defense run every play. Even if they get a stop, it's gotta be because they ran their arse off. We do that, spread em out, do lots of pre snap motion, attack the edges, their defense will cave.

If we had the capability (haven't seen it yet) I would also say we gotta make them pay when they are aggressive rushing the passer, always with a TE or RB chipping and then peeling behind off the de, but I don't know that we can hit that stuff consistently

you are in for a rough game. It's almost certainly going to be in the 30s at least. As good as their offense is, their d is worse, so even with our O we can score that much. Their D is much worse than our O. It's going to be a higher scoring game most likely

LSU has played 3 teams this year with winning records, they have given up an average of 46 points per game in those games.

Come out of the gate scoring on offense. Getting down a couple of scores early to LSU's offense could be killer

Please. At the very least, no extended periods of 3 and outs and/or turnovers

LSU is a whopping 98th in relative yards per rushing attempt allowed. Let’s grind them up a little bit

Agree with everything in the OP. I would also add that we need to be able to sustain some drives to give the defense a break. Can’t go three and out a bunch.

Big play scores are great, but we can’t rely on that alone, which underscores the importance of sustaining some drives.

Yes but the defense has to make stops and get off the field. Third down defense needs to be exceptional.

Two things:

Have the OL actually fire out and drive people instead of putting 350# fat asses back on their heels in the shotgun.

Set the damned edge on defense!
