New storming the field rules.

Looks like some teams are about to make some money:
Escalated penalties for field storming: first offense is $100k; second is $250; third offense is $500k. “I have the ability to impose additional penalties,” Sankey says. And the fines will be paid directly to the opponent who is subjected to the field/court storm.

They should have said “no storming unless you’re opponent is Top 5, and you’re unranked.”

So home teams will have to pay themselves?

Sports get gayer every year.

A lot of debate as to who is the King lately. Bama got 8 games and now this rule. Sure seems like they’re still ruling the show.

It’s gotten bad and it’s going to get worse. They managed to stop it in pro sports, not sure why they can’t in college

Not a last laugh arrangement for the losing team, imo. More like a party expense.

We've never stormed our home field. I think it's because we stormed FSU's field in the early 80s and the state police beat the absolute shite out of a bunch of UF students.
"But perhaps there is a distinguished layer of class under all of those jorts."

Alabama gets more field storms on average throughout the years than any other team.
This will make Bama a solid million over about 2-3 years. Depending.

It would suck if it happened in a game like the Bluegrass Miracle. Lose and pay the other team.

Hard to believe second offense is a measly $250 when first is $100,000.

Fines won't do it.
They'll have to take away home games or go to forfeits to stop it.

I would take away beer sales for first offense then COVID attendance rest of season for second offense.

Bama fans still whining about rushing the field

Hell, just make the storming team's starting lineup fight in Ukraine.

Only offer bud light after the first storming. If it keeps going then make Target an official sponsor of the stadium. That should quickly eliminate field rushing.
