I'm all in favor of law enforcement using the opportunity for some baton training. The field is for the player until they make it to the locker room.

This has clearly been the conventional wisdom in this conference for essentially the entirety of its existence, but something changed in the last 10-15 years and our current younger-generation snowflake nerd overlords who reject any personal responsibility for their distasteful actions are apparently now running the asylum around here.

We've never stormed our home field. I think it's because we stormed FSU's field in the early 80s and the state police beat the absolute shite out of a bunch of UF students.

I was at that game. It rained most of the game. The field was wet. It was funny as hell watching a Gator get tackled and slide for several yards. I was there with a big money FSU boosters family. Me and the son sat in the stands until all the Gators had been rounded up. I believe that was the game where a UF painted caddy was set on fire. It was still smoldering when we left Doak.

ETA I believe that was 1982. UF won it on a FG very late.........maybe the last play of the game.

My personal rant above aside, holy hell what a spectacle. Watching that unfold would be just about as good as it gets as a boy.

It was amazing. I grew up around 'Noles and Gators. I knew big money boosters on both sides. Ttown wasn't far. I had an open invitation to any FSU game I wanted to attend. I would go 2-4 times a year. I went to some UF games, but that was always a weekend endeavor. I wish I would have appreciated it more. I saw some all-time FSU legends play.

They'll care when they get kicked out of school and arrested.

Looks like some teams are about to make some money: Escalated penalties for field storming: first offense is $100k; second is $250; third offense is $500k. “I have the ability to impose additional penalties,” Sankey says. And the fines will be paid directly to the opponent who is subjected to the field/court storm.

This rule single-handedly guarantees Clemson to the B1G

Storming the field is so high school. Any major universities that do it should be absolutely ashamed.

Bama still so butt hurt that they were on the wrong end of two last year that they cried and whined about player safety until the SEC bent the knee. Hell, their own player was punching women in the face and didn’t even get suspended.

Storming the field is awesome! Y’all all cry about taking the fun out of college sports. The passion that is storming the field/court is one of those things.

Only offer bud light after the first storming. If it keeps going then make Target an official sponsor of the stadium. That should quickly eliminate field rushing.

Why does anyone care about students going on the field after the game?
