Fair enough. But we had one of the most bitter rivalries from pretty much the beginning of your program. We really liked beating Florida.That doesn’t fade. WDE.

You sound like the lifelong Florida fan I met near the Hound who had never been to town before. He thought AuburnTennessee was a bigger rivalry.

Saw lots of Florida folk wandering around downtown Auburn today. Somewhat shocking is their lack of understanding what a rivalry it was and will be again this weekend. They seem just happy to be here. Good luck. Us geriatrics never forgot and we’re going to bring it. War Damn.
There are a lot of great games to choose from, but 1993 always tops the list for me. One of the greatest games that so few actually got to watch because of the TV ban.

The ‘93 Florida game is the loudest I’ve ever heard Jordan-Hare as well. People were stomping on their seats and screaming nonstop. It felt like the superstructure of the stadium would buckle a few times when it got loud while we were on defense. Crazy good game. Playing Florida more often is one of the only good things about the recent expansion.

That report just throws out occupancy rate as if there weren’t any other events happening, like a large Camp War Eagle session that ran that Monday and Tuesday. The city’s own sales and use tax revenue numbers are a blip for the soccer game and far below what a gameday weekend would bring in. Don’t believe me? I wouldn’t buy that $27 million+ number for one second. The town was dead on Monday. Dead on Wednesday. And not even very busy in comparison to a normal gameday on Tuesday, which included a flash flood. And sales and use tax collections for June were only $300K more than FY25. The inflated total, imo, is being used to justify the move of the season-opener as if the soccer game really made up for the loss of revenue for the local economy. And they’ll use that inflated number to try to justify moving the next game for NIL.

“Invisible” nanobot technology isn’t that big a leap for science fiction. IRL, IBM is using sub-nanometer tech to build chips the size of a fingernail with a 100 billion transistors stacked on it.

The show runners have changed things up a good bit, so I'm not sure what direction the show will ultimately go. There have been enough hints, though, that the cause of the apocalypse will probably be the same as the books.
