Present.

I am on the Kiffin train now.

Kiffin, the NEW Duck Man Dan Lanning or Freeze would work for me.

I have had so many too many to list or count.

All I know today is we will see brighter days ahead.

I will admit that I secretly felt that Kam Pettway would be the best back that Gus ever put on the field for his system. I thought he would totally dominate and just frick shite up

Welp.

Count me in the crowd that thought Harsin just needed more time and his hard nosed narrative would translate to hard nosed and successful football.

I have to personally disagree with the perspective that Steele would have been a better long term hire for the program, though. I think he would have done marginally better but would not be competing for championships. Then we would have been stuck with a mediocre coach for a longer period of time than Harsin stuck around. Now we have an opportunity we otherwise wouldn't have had to make a big time hire.

All that to say, I think we have better options before us to hire a long term championship caliber coach sooner than we would have had we hired Steele - if all that makes sense.

I thought that Harsin was going to be our Saban- his record, his old school, physical mentality, the whole 1-0 thing. It all seemed like it had been spoken by Saban.

I thought that Jeremy Johnson was going to be the next Cam. With his size and seeing the first half of the Arkansas game, I saw another dominant QB under Gus.

I also thought that Anders was going to be batter than his older brother.

Auburn was 6-2 last year and I bought Into the Harsin non-sense. I said the words - this guy is going to be our next Pat Dye.

These words have haunted me

I didn’t think anyone cared less about recruiting than Tubs, but Mr. Potato Head proved me wrong.

I will own up to another one.

I never thought, and stated publicly, that Derrick Henry would ever be a good NFL back. He seemed so slow and sluggish when he was in college, I just felt like the NFL defenses would just clog him up and he would be ineffective

Welp

But I don't make many predictions so...

That's the one.

It was complete and utter astonishment that recruiting could ever have been pushed back (or aside) so far. Kept thinking they've seen good football players, even if visiting elsewhere, they're basing high hopes on something. Yep, I bought in.

And boy was I wrong.

I saw a gay porno once. I didn't know until halfway in. The girls never came. The girls never came!

I thought Greg Smith was going to be one of our best defensive lineman ever.

No. He got super huge and out of shape.

I hope he doesn’t hear, see, or sense me saying this. Oh crap, I’ve probably screwed up really bad, He’s out there somewhere you know. If I disappear, you’ll know what happened.

I thought Tyrik Rollison was the chosen one. Also was so sure Zeke Pike would win a heisman. After all, I watched a 4 minute YouTube highlight video of the guy.

Sigh, I thought JJ would be superior to Marshall.

My shame knows no bounds.
