I was very disappointed. I expected a lot more. It was just the first game though. We will know a lot more about where we are in the next three weeks. There were obviously a lot of missed assignments. Our players have to grow and learn. We will see if that happens.

One time he basically said the guys that have been fluttering through spring and fall camp with things like weight struggled Saturday, those that have played well throughout it all played very well Saturday.

** On OL: Tackles played well. Competed at a high level there. Effort was there inside, struggled with twist game, climbing to next level. Disappointed with both guard spots. Cole Best did a good job ID-ing stuff. Needed to be more physical inside. Got to get better there
I just rewatched the game and I was actually impressed with our tackle play for the first time in probably a decade. On Byrum's Simmons seals off the defensive end and pancakes him. Several other runs where he took 1-2 defenders out on a play.
The guards were terrible if there was a twist or stunt. Almost never picked them up. I wouldn't hate Ellis coming back to center and moving Best to a guard spot.

Smuphy I noticed that as well.
You see in the highlights jang posted Golesh is talking about picking up blocks, all of them were on that one play, receiver, TE, tackle, pulling guard and Cobb all hit their blocks just like you draw it up....now if we can only do that 50 more times.
