If Florida comes into JHS and runs us out of the stadium I say we all line up and punch Cohen in the face.
Cohen is gonna feel the heat if Golesh starts off poorly. I’m hoping he succeeds of course because I like Golesh and I want to have faith that doing things the right way and getting one’s “process” down will ultimately pay off.
Moving the game off campus and having only 55K show up isn’t a good look for Cohen right now either. The empty seats were very noticeable on TV. Somebody lost their arse on that thing.

I was happy for Golesh yesterday. Win over a p5 in your opener is ultimately a good start.
I was thinking not-so-nice thoughts about Cohen though.

A small lead in the 4th ... would have been a loss without any doubt last year.
including that game, we’ve lost 13 times when we’ve had a 4th quarter lead

That game in JH is still a W and I believe a better looking W.
Doesn’t fix the OL issues or decisions by Brown…but I do believe it inserts the 12th man more prominently.
How/Why? Hyped crowd. Students. That stuff matters.

The fan base was fooled by the over hype at the hands of a local media having minimal windows to watch practice.
The best take away from this game is the stop on the 2 point conversion to end the suffering. When players “buy in”…….the culture is changed. I see a buy in……having been a part of one my Senior year…….I believed my QB Coach walked on water after the first game.
They’ll get better….

They showed the stat that we were 0-6 in one score games last season. They said it was our first single point victory since 2010, but that just seems wrong in my head.
It feels like the only one score games we have won in 5 years was the Aggy game where they dropped the 2pt conversion in OT and the Mizzou game a few years back where they fumbled going in for the winning score.

AI says it was LSU 2004 10-9. I can neither confirm or deny.

Too much is being made of this close "victory."
We were an inch or two from being defeated in home territory by Baylor.
An inch or two is just fortune.
After one game, we are the same - upper echelon defense with warriors not missing a beat.
Offense still shows no signs of being SEC quality.

They were also an inch or two from giving the ball back to us on the last drive. Works both ways.

2010 IB was 28-27. So maybe thats it. But I feel like there were a couple more recent

Baylor picked up fourth down conversions on both of its TD drives… 24-10ish auburn could’ve been a reasonable outcome.
As stressful as it was, we never trailed.

Someone had said earlier about Baylors missed opportunities, here is one Brown has to do better with.
As has been said, never overreact to week 1. Lots to work on and clean up. Lots. But it is never as bad or as good as week 1 seems.

Meh. We lose that game 99% of the time for the past 3-5 seasons.

But, we won.

Agreed. I feel like the staff at least recognized the shortcomings. They made some adjustments and were able to at least run the ball a bit better in the 2nd half vs the first half.
I trust this staff so much more to get issues fixed than I do the past 3 seasons.

I watched Oklahoma, Bama, and LSU play. We dont have an upper quadrant defense. We have a defense that stayed on the field 99 plays while we only played 76 plays.
In no order these are all more stingy than Auburn. Last year we were 7th.
Georgia
Bama
LSU
Oklahoma
Ole Miss
A&M
Texas
Florida and South Carolina may have a case as well

Just to be clear so far we are the worst in the nation for opponent plays per game going into week 2.
Clemson is the second worst at 94. Defenses like A&M only played 41 snaps so in theory our defense has already played 2.5 games to their one.
