I agree with most, but if Louisville had a QB that could hit a wide open WR, old piss would be losing by 21 right now.

Jang, I will admit I was wrong on the tackling dummies and I won’t listen to anything the person that told me that says in the future. He is a try hard and I should have known better.

The OL was just getting pushed around on run blocking by Baylor DL. That and Brown’s performance worried me more than anything.

Where was the deshawn wommack dude that is supposedly better than Ryan Williams. What about the DE womack from Ole Miss and LSU? Or Sigler? Both were horrible. Sigler played like arse on defense nevermind when he lit up someone on special teams.

We didn't need back to back Hail Mary's plus divine ref/conference intervention to give us 1 second back to win our game. So that's nice.

** Grateful to fans for creating a great environment Saturday.

** Watching film critically: Proud of effort, proud of finish on offense. Proud of defense playing the next play and finding a way to win. Pleased with energy and body language on sidelines even after turnovers. Kids were playing for each other, staying connected.

On offense, 3 turnovers hurt, it was one guy at a time "jacking it up" on offense each time. Execution poor, somebody different play to play. On us as coaches to put team in position to be successful. Looked what it was supposed to look like by 4th quarter.

Defense was poor on 3rd downs early but got better as game went. 4th down were bad too. Have to play tighter and understand leverage and coverages better. Too many pre-snap penalties. Punted well on special teams. Should have caught ball on pooch punt. Bad decisions on punt return. Defense was helped by going against pace everyday.

** Glad we played tough opponent Week 1, found out where we are as a team. The earlier you find that out the better. Just OK on details on both sides. Have to get better. We have no choice. Guys that had urgency in camp showed up in game. Handful of guys we've challenged to step up.

** CK Murray good to go. Womack day-to-day. Hope to have him back end of week. Skinner and Strand good.

** Southern Miss expected to be 23rd straight sellout. Excited about playing in J-H for first time. Challenged guys to flip page after this morning's meeting. USM has new head coach (was OC), new OC, QB has played in big games, explosive at RB, play hard up front, a lot of tempo. New DC, played a bunch of guys Week 1, different looks. Have to be ready for unknown on D.

** On OL: Tackles played well. Competed at a high level there. Effort was there inside, struggled with twist game, climbing to next level. Disappointed with both guard spots. Cole Best did a good job ID-ing stuff. Needed to be more physical inside. Got to get better there.

** Byrum Brown was better once he settled in. Had opportunities to check-down early but didn't. Did it at end of half. Singleton stood out, Koger too. Challenged Chas on perimeter blocking but key play on last drive.

** Bryce Cain did a good job on special teams and had explosive run. Earned right to play. Proud of him. Jeremiah Koger -- moment wasn't too big. Played fast. Bryson Washington looked like vet on his 14 plays. CK Murray looked like a vet. Womack played fast. Jared played more snaps than probably entire life, stepped up.

** On INT's: one was a tip, one was a play we tried to push downfield. Backside safety made a good play. That happens. Byrum owned every bit of it, and I owned every bit of it.

** Defensive plan was to stop run with light box and force QB to deliver balls into tight windows. We gave some easy things away back there. Rushed 3 and 4 a bunch. Thought we did a solid job of affecting him in 4th Q.

** Cobb's block on TD run was as big-time as it gets. Cobb played really well overall. Jake blocked well all day. Nice job on TD run. Keshaun Singleton finished it on goal line.

** Played a lot of snaps on D. Four guys over 90 snaps -- that's crazy but they didn't miss a beat. For that to be Eric Winters' 91st snap to be violent -- big credit to him.
