It SHOULD put us and Alabama in the East, and add 1 more conference game.
Hell no !!!

Leave Bama in the west or your giving TX and OU an easy path with largely T&AM or LSU to fret. And Auburn can get back some of it's rivalries.

under any scenario, I don't see the SEC splitting up Auburn and bama.

UGA and UF are better then Oklahoma and Texas. So the fret of stronger schedule never thought I would see a day that an Auburn fan would want an easier schedule.

So because Oklahoma has zero competition when Texas is down makes you think they are good? They have gotten run off the field in most playoffs. You never know LSU Texas A&M and Texas might lock Oklahoma out of the talent in Texas and Oklahoma comes to the SEC and is just a Nebraska in the Big 10. Nebraska no longer has any pull in the state of Texas because they don’t play any games there anymore.

No lol. Maybe Texas since they've been down for a while, but Oklahoma is bigger than both of those.

How so? Hasn’t UGa beaten OKie twice recently and UF in the recent past.

I think we are about the only SEC team Oklahoma has beaten recently but so did Minnesota and North Western

Better yet name me one good team Oklahoma has beaten in the past 10 years outside of the Big 12.

Oklahoma is THE school for QBs right now and will be for as long as Riley is there and he's the best offensive mind in the game right now. The only thing UGA and Fla have over Oklahoma is being being to say "come play in the SEC". As soon as you give that away then they have no advantages over Oklahoma. That could change if Riley leaves, but as long as he's there they are one of the top schools in all of college football. Probably Bama, Clemson, Oh St and then maybe Oklahoma.

2020 beat a quit UF team
2019 lost to LSU 63-28
2018 lost to Alabama 45-34
2017 lost to UGa 54-48
2016 beat a crimpled AU team
2015 lost to Clemson 35-17
2014lost to Clemson 40-6
2013 beat Alabama 45-31
2012 lost to aTm 41-13
2011 beat Iowa 31-14

I can see why we should be running scared… Oklahoma in bowls the past 10 years wasn’t going to look through all their out of conference games because none come to mind

Gus would be a In Sainthood at AU if he played Riley’s schedule every year. Beat a shitty Texas 3 out of 4 years and consider the best QB coach in the country.

They are a bigger brand and are almost always the higher ranked team. I agree they lose in bowl games a lot. That won't stop them from adding to the list of people in conference out recruiting us and they have a way bigger brand overall. Texas and Oklahoma come in and Auburn is pushed down to the 6th at best in the SEC. I have no desire to be relegated to mid table because we we're too prideful to move to a situation that benefits us more.

20 team conference we wouldn’t be directly going against Texas or Oklahoma… only in the championship game. It would move LSU the west and possibly cut them off from South Alabama, the panhandle and central Florida recruiting pushing them into competition with aTm Texas and Oklahoma for similar recruits. It could also hurt Alabama and Us however we don’t much recruiting in Mississippi and Louisiana

If the argument is to be a big fish in a little pond then why go to the ACC why not the AAC. We would dominate that every year. Reminds me of how crappy the NBA is with building super teams. Frick that crap. Either you want to run with the big dogs or stay on the damn porch.

Yes 9 game conference schedule round robin… champions decided on the field and not by and eye test or what the name is on front of the jersey

Because the ACC is arguably still the 2nd best conference and winning it is an automatic playoff spot. a conference of Auburn, Clemson, Miami, UNC, and FSU is a pretty good conference.

From a competitive stand point I still haven't seen a single way Auburn benefits from them moving in.

Why are you guys adding other teams? WHo cares about WV, NCst, VT. These aren't quality teams to add showcase to our conf. OK and TX is enough.

The rumor involved OK and Texas.

It will work find if we have 9 in the East and West.

We still could play 9 sec games, play all 8 in in our Div, and then rotate 1 more from the West.

I see some of you have been staying with the 2 Division concept but with 16 teams and a 9 game conference we wouldn't play others that often if it included a cross team rival...so what about 4 Divisions of 4 and you had at least one game per division, 3 from your own and the other 3 from some structure...that way you could have games all over the place...sometimes the crap shoot would give you an easier schedule and sometime you would have a very tough one... Thoughts?

I am going to be honest. SOG posted one potential pod yearly schedule LINK that made me drool for a lot of those games.
