Receivers need someone to get them the ball if they want to go high in the draft. If I were mentoring a top receiver, no chance they're going to AU until a good QB is on board.

@CollegeFBPortal is reporting on Twitter that its sources say that Payton Thorne is committing to Auburn and that an announcement will follow soon. I have no idea if this is credible info.

I'm not a big fan of Thorne, but he does have a decent arm. Just don't know if he really moves the needle much but I guess a trade of him for Finley is fine.

I’ve never heard of them but looking at their twitter the last QB they reported on was accurate (Hayden Wolff from Old Dominion to Western Michigan). But who knows

I’m skeptical too. I don’t see why he would commit without a visit to campus. Plus no other sources are confirming. I guess we will know one way or the other soon. I’ve been hoping we get Thompson.
