Auburn receiver Darius Slayton declares for NFL Draft

Surprising to me.

I’ll be surprised if he is drafted.

So many drops.

He should've came back. One more year of production and film showing he's worked on his flaws though and he could go 3rd-4th range. Right now he's late round at best.

Hope he's been talking to Tega. As hit or miss as our OL was this past season, those two did seem to get better towards the end.

Anybody think this could be because Gus is about to go ZR with baby Cam?

Needs to come back, add 10-15 lbs and move inside. Study lots of Aaron Donald film.

Happy for Slayton. I think he will get drafted, but it will be late. He drops passes, but there's not many guys as fast as him. Assuming we get Pickens our WR depth is going to be insane next year.. He basically had to leave or risk getting passed on the depth chart. I'm going to miss him though. He was one of those guys that seemed like he has been around for 5 or 6 years already.

Big news on Harrell too. Now if we can get Davidson and Tega we should be good in good shape for next year.

Slayton looked around and saw what QBs we had left for next year, and he realized he wasn't going to see many balls his way. :)

Well, Slayton left on a high note. Guy kinda disappeared for a while this year, but dominated the bowl game.

I guess I’m not necessarily surprised. He’s battled some injuries and had been up and down (seemingly) on the depth chart. Probably stays if he hadn’t had an enormous bowl game. But he’s got a degree in hand.

Auburn gets Eli Stove back as a deep threat (he needs to prove himself again after major knee surgery) and Hastings along with a great 2018 class already making its mark on the WR rotation plus two elite ‘19 guys who will demand playing time with their ability.

WR just isn’t something to concern ourselves about with Gus designing the offense and calling plays. But it’s nice to continue to bring in ridiculous talent regardless

Derrick Brown is the only guy of this list that should absolutely leave

Tate said in his podcast that he has an unconfirmed suspicion that Brown played through injury this year. He seemed to think the hesitation to declare comes from NFL teams being hesitant about "new" injury + potential combine results being hurt from Browns 100% health capability

So does that mean he thinks he might come back?

Impression I got was Brown probably leaves, but it is closer than one would think. Seems like the talk of him returning is legit

I hope they don't use E. Stove as a deep threat. What I saw of him when he got deep balls before he got hurt, he simply couldn't go get those balls. His skills on deep routes has to improve before i feel good about him being a deep threat.
As a slot WR, yes, I think that is his best ability.

For a Deep threat, we need Williams, and I hope Pickens to be those guys.

Rivals (bm) said Tega got a low draft grade and it looks more likely that be returns. No decision made.

Tega being back would be massive. Makes sense Slayton left, he graduated and he isn’t getting any younger. He is gonna get one shot.
