I’ll be surprised if he is drafted.

So many drops.

Ricardo was drafted and he dropped a shite-ton of passes.

Sammy was drafted and he dropped a shite-ton of passes.

All depends on Slayton's measurables and his work-outs.

and IMO, Slayton is better than both these guys.

I hope they don't use E. Stove as a deep threat. What I saw of him when he got deep balls before he got hurt, he simply couldn't go get those balls. His skills on deep routes has to improve before i feel good about him being a deep threat.
As a slot WR, yes, I think that is his best ability.

If Stove is back and close to his old form, keep him at his normal position. If we're replacing Slayton with anyone, it should be Schwartz IMO. Williams and Pickens are far too dangerous in the middle of the field. Like Coates, much of Slayton's routes are go routes or deep posts. Use Schwartz's speed for that.

Slayton dusted that dude on the edge on the 2nd TD. That was impressive.

Williams and Pickens are big body receivers that are 50/50 outside guys. This are guys you want to hit behind the sticks. Eli Stove can get behind the defense quickly which lets the QB air it out. Speed is your tool as a deep threat WR. I think we have a lot of options there

If you’re referring to Hastings then you’re mistaken. I mentioned him in the previous post in this same thread

Also, for the crowd that complains that Gus can’t keep players around - Kirby just lost like half his junior starters to the draft

Tends to happen when you have a top 3 recruiting class every year and have two straight 11+ win seasons

Clemson generally meets that criteria and they brought back their entire starting DL when they could’ve gone early. So you can say what you just said or consider the fact that every team is going to lose some head scratchers to the draft.

You know. Good common sense stuff. Didn’t even have to pull team records or recruiting rankings ;-)

I just think it’s stupid to use Georgia losing players as a defense for Gus. You can’t compare a program consistently is the playoff hunt to one that consistently underperforms. Bama also loses a lot to the draft every year. Common sense stuff ;-)

What’s that have to do with losing juniors to the draft early? Why is Clemson the only example of a program that’s easily citable for kids coming back despite high draft grades?

The parallel isn’t that Georgia lost juniors. The parallel is that Georgia lost juniors that should have returned. All schools lose top junior draft picks. I think we all understand that. Most schools also lose guys that fans think should come back to improve. There’s not much any school can do to stop that. Several of the guys that Georgia lost today are low round guys that were solidified starters. They would have started and played on another great Georgia team but still decided to risk not being drafted in order to leave school. They’re not leaving because their team is good that’s absurdity.

Georgia lost a lot of good players yesterday:
Mecole
Fields
Luke Ford
Riley Ridley
Isaac Nauta
Elijah Holyfield

I think their championship window is closed for a while.

Clemson and Bama players can not afford the pay cut to leave early. I thought UGA was in the same boat, but they may not be as good at providing for the families long term.
