Cam might still be better than any QB Rhule brought to the Panthers.

You know I love me some Deion but I highly doubt Auburn brokers care to show interest. They would find a retread before they think outside the box even when they know they need a great hire to put some enthusiasm back into the program and to get us competitive with our rivals again.

Auburn would hire Lashlee ten times out of ten if it were between Lashlee and Deion.

Ha!! There's already a story out saying AU fans want nothing to do with Rhule. Clearly the writer didn't read this thread.

Nothing worse than people who write stories backed up only by a few tweets. This world sucks.

How do we think Rhule would do with recruiting?

Zero ties to this area.

Here are some of his former assistants from Baylor and what they're doing now. The first two guys came with him from Temple and had zero ties to this region:

DL Elijah Robinson - Texas A&M

DB Fran Brown - Georgia

DL/OLB Joey McGuire - Texas Tech HC

Elijah Robinson was the 247 #1 recruiter in the country last year.

Matt Rhule's 2018 signing class (#29 nationally in the 247 Composite) was only a few spots lower than what Art Briles was doing on average during his peak at Baylor. And consider that Rhule had zero ties to the state of Texas whereas Briles was a Texas HS coaching legend. Rhule's 2018 class is ranked higher than any one of Aranda's classes to date.

Also, Baylor did in fact sign several players from Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama in Rhule's short tenure there. One of those players was 4-star WR Tyquan Thornton from Miami, FL who ended up being a 2nd round pick in last year's NFL draft.

To me, there is zero indication that Rhule can't recruit. He has already proven to be capable of hiring extremely impressive assistant coaches who have shown to be able to recruit at an elite level. Also, at Baylor he showed that he was smart and understood the importance of regional knowledge: he hired Joey McGuire away from a Texas HS in order to build up their in-state presence.

Deeper you dig on Rhule. Better it gets.

I will be ignoring the lazy arse argument of what ranked team has he beat or just posting his overall record. Those people don’t give a frick who our coach will be.

Assistants would be key. Wonder what Caddy and Zac would do. Zac seems like a rising star in the coaching and recruiting ranks.

THIS.

The dude is from the north and doesn’t give a shite about southern politics, he’s proven college winner, he has NFL experience and didn’t like it.

This is Auburns time to make the best hire we will have for a decade.

I mean it’s really fricking lazy. I laid it out for you last night.

Tell me which specific games you’re going to criticize him for losing.
