Yet Leath starred in his own parade anyway. And now he's in a precarious position. Does he double down on his bet that Malzahn will be worth $49 million over seven years?

He hired Greene to make the decisions. He needs to stay away and let grown men negotiate the buyout.

The Ole Miss game should give us the answer. The UT game started to unveil the big picture that is the status of the team right now. Our team is capable of beating Ole Miss, but if we lose by 2 scores or more, it would be an indication the team has essentially given up, and 5-7 would most likely be our record. That might be the tipping point that makes the boosters pull the plug.

I don't want to get rid of him for similar reasons. I like stability. Although I am not happy with our situation.

He can go eat a bag dicks. Don't want that child near campus. He shite all over Tennesseee and set that program back years.

I'm seriously wondering if the PTB have something in their back pocket, other than money. Everything that's coming out is showing tons of confidence on their side. Maybe a clause within the contract to get around the buyout. Pure speculation on my part.

If Gus manages to somehow get to 7W, Auburn would have 7-8W in 6 of Malzahn's 9 seasons as HC/OC

Who doesn't like the stability of winning 7-8 games in 66% of your seasons?

Not sure how Kiffin is responsible for TN's horrendous hiring decisions post Kiffin.

Actually most rich people I know actually would. Rich people mostly get rich by taking risk, and even though they obviously reap that risk they also take some hits along the way. What makes them successful is they see their mistake, eat it, and move on and make it up and then some.

I think the reason some people signed on to the extension was recruiting. They saw a couple of nice wins coupled with a good recruiting class and didn’t want to risk losing it and falling even further behind Kirby and Saban. Heck, the recruiting kept me on the Gus Bus for keeping him. However, and my past post proves, I was not for keeping him if he used the Arky job as a bargaining chip for more money. He deserved to keep his job based on last years performance, but not a raise.

He's immature. Still tweeting like a 13 year old girl. Joey Freshwater.

He is incapable of running a program. Waste of time even typing this

Yeah, I’ll stick with Gus if it’s between him or Kiffin.

So you are saying he could be president of the United States but not our head coach?

Lane Kiffins Twitter habits are not why TN sucks at football for the past decade

He did a great job of losing this dime piece:

Coach Joey Freshwater on Tinder

Let's not forget the big rumor about Kiffin and the Bama fax machine girl.

He's a spoiled brat. And can't handle being a head coach. He hung his Southern Cal memorabilia in his Tennessee office and told the Tennessee players they need to be more like Southern Cal. Dude is a joke and he's gone from NFL head coach to bush league head coach for a reason

5-15 Raiders
7-6 Tenn
28-15 USC

This is just a dumb conversation.

There is some serious support in this forum for that idiot Kiffen, for some reason (exhibited by the downvotes to your post and (soon) my own).

I swear to god its the people that are so depressed right now that they just want to end it all in a nuclear Kiffen explosion.

Quite unfortunate that you can’t see the potential he has as a coach.

You have to take into account how well he does with quarterbacks and offenses, how young he still is, who he has coached/learned under, how well he does on the recruiting trail, how bad he wants to beat Nick Saban, and how he clearly wants to make the jump back into coaching at a P5 school. Pretty sure Lane Kiffin would jump at an opportunity to coach in the SEC, and especially one to coach at Alabama’s rival.

Let’s also realize that Lane Kiffin does not have a “dream school” to coach at any longer. The odds of him leaving Auburn high and dry would only MAYBE happen if he went back to the NFL.

If Auburn doesn’t step up, it will be very regrettable.

Well, that is just completely wrong.

Lane Kiffin didn’t hire Derek Dooley or Butch Jones.

ETA: And, please, spare me the “He might leave Auburn in shambles!” bullshite. Where is Auburn right now? Solidifying their spot as 6th in the SEC West? Yeah. Exactly.

believe it or not (probably not based on the source) but someone who claims to be in the know on 247 and apparently have called big things before says that there's at least 1 big money AU person that wants Kiffin.
