I guess the "gameday experience" has passed me by.

I went to a rave last night and a football game broke out intermittently.

I am old too. But I would be more pissed if I was a FSU fan and the lights didnt work on a nationally televised game.

They are just trying to manufacture the fun that came naturally pre-NIL/portal era

I was sitting there thinking the same. 6 yrs of averaging 5.5 wins and the fun has to be manufactured.

That’s what the gummies are for.

I remember going to AU vs SCsometime between 04-06 and nobody would even yell with me to make noise on 3rd down. Wish there was manufactured hype back then to make the experience better than just standing in the heat around a bunch of spectators.

Part of it is just how much damn stoppage of play there is now, too. So many commercials, refs wanting to make things about them, reviews, etc. it is very hard for a crowd to stay constantly engaged.
Obviously that’s only a portion of what has increased the use of media and such, but it is definitely a factor.
