This one hurt even more the next day.

Rod Bramblett is going to be a tough act to follow. That man loved this school and wore it on his sleeve in all the best ways possible. He will be sorely missed.

I hope Andy Burcham takes the mic in the interim. Only seems fitting that one of Rod’s closest friends keeps his legacy alive.

You will be missed Rod. Thank you for always making me feel I was at the event while listening to you on the radio. You were a true Auburn man. God be with you and your family.

Doesn't make sense unless the teen was driving at high speed and didn't see stopped car ahead. Airbags didn't go off? So senseless and tragic

I don’t know what to do with my emotions on this. A sports announcer shouldn’t cause this much pain, but it is so personal. I took for granted that he would always be on through the good and the bad. It is as though our soul has been pulled out. I know that is dramatic but it feels that way.

I'm very sad hearing this. I can't bring myself to listen to his great calls yet. Maybe one day, but I don't feel like crying today. I can't imagine what their family and friends are feeling. Having a young son this hits me hard. How old were their children?

The daughter is 20 and attends Auburn. Son is in high school. Paula also worked for Auburn.

Airbags do not inflate from a rear end collision.

I was in a wreck in highschool in hwy 280. I was stopped at a red light and got rear ended by a guy doing 55. He was from out of town and didn’t even see the light. Was looking at a map - dropped it on the floor board and went to get it. He looked up and there were the cars at the red light. I popped a curb and he glanced me but it could have been bad. Freak things happen. Life is unpredictable sadly.

This is really awful. We lost a huge piece of the Auburn family.

It was only a matter of time before something this horrific occurred at that spot on Shug Jordan. It’s terrible that anyone was killed let alone the Brambletts.

It is amazing how dangerous car travel is but yet how cavalier we can be about it. I live in cumming ga and drive down to the airport 17 times a month for most months. Just a ton of exposure, pass a ton of wrecks, and according to life360 I occasionally hit 90 mph and I think I just mostly keep with traffic.

Getting tired of it.

People asking about the rear end collision thing...in high school a good friend of mine was stopped waiting to turn left. It's on a steep incline and was raining heavily. She was hit from behind in a Ford explorer. I guess the whiplash effect would be what caused the injuries because my friend broke 2 of the cervical vertebrae and had some major head trauma. Temporarily paralyzed and had to learn to walk again. She missed like a year and a half of school and was very lucky to live.

Just trying to help some folks understand how this could happen. It is certainly better than say a head on collision but, as we see, it can turn tragic.

That is probably the worst drive that any human being should be required to drive
