When they watch the current QB’s especially “The Deuce” throw at practice they realize it will be possibly their Jr. year before they see the field.
Getting 4-5 star in the class is going to be tough out this year with our current QB room.

The Grayson QB wanted 2 million to come be back up.

Alan Head made a good point on their podcast. Look at the NFL, and at this stage we are minor league NFL, with no guardrails.
You pay top dollar for a QB. We have two 5 star top dollar QBs on the roster, you would not see that in the NFL, now would you go out and get a third?
What the heck would be left in the NIL bucket for OL, DL which we need this cycle?
Freeze mentioned they have a budget with percentages by room/position varying by what the roster looks like. Obviously these fellas were well beyond that, we move on.
Once we see Arnold against Baylor all our worries will be forgotten other than keeping all the receivers rested from all those touchdown passes

What a weird arse recruiting cycle. Not that we are behind or anything just with OVs going on you’d expect more commitments for all teams. Guess all the money jocking is holding back teams and players.
Rumor is USCw is paying 50k just for commitments regardless if they stick or not.

If USC is dumb enough to get themselves played like that then yeah..... I'll commit to you for a month then go where I really wanna go

That’s what we saw happen last season as well.

The agent I was talking to said they took a trip down to Miami last week just to get them to set a number for his client and to commit for a fee even though he already knows he's going elsewhere. Such a stupid system.

Saban did the same thing. It's smart marketing.

Not sure if Saban did this but a lot of schools pay for visits and commitments, especially in the fall following losses

Interesting one to take right now. Staff must really like him a lot. Seems to be very athletic.

Eric Perry has 6 total offers and only 2 FBS offers, Utah State and us.

It's definitely an under the radar pick up that signals we aren't doing well with our biggest targets, but it is also so under the radar that I know Freeze wouldn't take this commitment unless he felt like he was getting some value here. One thing we can not question about Freeze is that he has caviar taste in recruits, and that he feels confident he can get a kid from his top group. If he grabs a lowly 3 star this early, he thinks he's outsmarting the market. Only time will tell if he is.
The new NIL ruling also allows for more scholarships, so that may have played into taking this commitment.
