A&M wasn't coming off of 5 straight losing seasons. I am not saying we can't keep ANYONE without Durkin, just that these players would explore more options and it would be a harder situation without him. I believe that a new staff would need more time so we'd be talking 2027-28 before we get this level of talent again. Why the F would we wait 3 years when we can bring back what works? A defense that only gave up more than 24 once all season because Pavia went Super Saiyan. These players can get a MOUNTAIN of cash anywhere, but they've stayed thus far because of the bond built with a coach they respect. Mike Elko showed that it was possible, something that I (never freaking denied) BUT is it probable considering the time the BRAND NEW Staff would have before windows open and close, and signing days are finished? Guess we would have to hope. I think the chances of US doing it wouldn't be great unless you bring in some amazing coach(who isn't available right now) OR YOU KEEP A COACH THE PLAYERS WOULD ALREADY BLEED FOR. Durkin isn't my number 1 choice, but I'll take him over some guy From Tulane who would be in over his head just based on fan expectations and negative press. Btw who the hell do we "Simply" replace Cam Coleman with? When we ditch Durkin how likely do you think it'll be that we keep Atkins being that he's was the one coach who believed in him? Since EVERYONE has money, I'm saying it'll be easier to keep the guys we actually want and need due to the relationships are already built here.

Call me crazy but Jackson has done less than Thorne did in my opinion. Thorne had (A few) good games whether folks want to admit or not. He even played with heart and showed grit in solid moments. He was also good at a Big 10 school while Arnold was just more physically gifted without ANY of the same accomplishments. We took a step backwards with even more experienced talent PARTLY because of him, and MOSTLY because of Freeze.

Freeze was lazy at coaching, but worked his arse off on recruiting. Potato man was all about offensive meetings and scheming stuff up, but was the LAZIEST recruiter of all time.

Our coaching was sun belt level. These guys were literally blocking the wrong person or nobody at all week after week. It's like all 5 of our lineman play like Percy Lewis did. The coaching, (SCHEME), effort and attention to detail wasn't there. You can bring in five 5* players and the results will be similar with a guy like freeze.

Why are any of you signing up for anything when there's a literal live stream of every college football game streamed for free EVERY WEEK on YouTube. Last year streams were being taken down but this year???? I've watched every collapse without issues unfortunately :lol:
