Good now Holland KJ and Carlton need to do the same

My opinion regarding those three....
KJ, nothing left to prove. He showed he can be the work horse back when healthy. Only reservation on him is his health. I don't think he can make it through an SEC schedule, not many RBs can with the number of touches he got this year. Kid leaves it all on the field though, and luckily for him, most NFL teams now use at least two RBs. Limited to 20 touches a game and the guy could have a great pro career. I want him to get paid.
Holland: He has the most to gain by coming back imo. I think he can build his stock simply by having more discipline in knowing when to contain a QB and when to go for the sack. I think he would show this along with enhanced leadership by coming back next year. Regardless, kid has been amazing and will be a household name in the NFL, I just want him to get paid right off the bat.
Carlton: I'm a new poster, but I've caught flack for my criticism of him. He is a big body and a hell of a player for sure. Makes those outside tackles that Auburn CBs haven't consistently made in the last decade. I definitely get the argument that his talent has resulted in putting him in man-man coverage a lot, and getting beat happens. With that said, his in-the-air ball skills leave much to be desired IMO. I don't see him as a lock down corner in the league. Every CB gets beat but he doesn't get enough INTs to make QBs avoid him. I think an NFL GM will have to accept his vulnerability in mid-long range pass defending for his consistency in tackling and short range abilities. I don't see another year in college changing any of that.

I've heard that Holland is coming back. Tracy Turner said as much on the radio yesterday. He said our core group has great chemistry, loves each other and feels like they have unfinished business. So, he expects us to have our entire defensive front back.. I think Carlton Davis, should and will go. I'm not so sure Dean doesn't have a higher ceiling and will be our lockdown corner next season, barring injury.. and I think KJ has a big decision ahead. I feel like he should go because of how high his stock is at the moment but I really feel like he is our heart and soul, and the type of guy that would come back and do something he hasn't been able to do yet.. finish.

Auburn’s biggest problem will be OL in 2018, IMO.
Possibly RB, too...

KJ isn't coming back. He's still banged up too.

Replace "problem" with "question mark".......
We have no clue if it's going to be a problem (OL). RB should be fine. We've recruited an arse-load of talent at the RB position. I don't care if they're only 200 pound guys. That's more than big enough to carry the load in college. Barrett, Asa, Whitlow, Shivers and Miller could all carry the ball as much as needed.

I realize I am optimistic, but I for one will be glad to let some of the young guys take a turn. I feel like our OL underperformed this season over all. I also don't understand after the way Tega played against A&M and uga, why we benched him to let James back on the field on the other side in the SEC title game?

The interior will struggle without Braden and Golson. The Tackles will have a much higher ceiling, but we'll just have to wait and see how much those guys that are raw and have little experience progress and if they'll ever reach their potential, which purely athletically is sky-high.

KJ will be a victim of a loaded RB class if he goes this year. He will drop 2-3 rounds due to the quality and depth of this year's RB class. However, if he returns, I can see him getting the hype like saquon barkley and going in the 1st round. There is no wrong decision either way but I can certainly see benefits to him for staying one more season.

KJ should come back but only if Gus can find it in his heart to use the other backs like a normal coach and not run KJ into the ground, especially in games where we don't even really need it.
If Gus wants to use him like a mule again he needs to gtfo.
I agree Carlton could use some work on his ball skills against big receivers but he's still much better than anything else we have to replace him. Him coming back would be huge.

Now, Auburn has to replace a lot of starts and experience.

So i hear KJ's mother wants him to stay and finish his degree. I now expect Holland and KJ both to return, while Pettway and CD goes..

Personally, I do not see KJ as a very good NFL back. I hope I am wrong but he fits the college mold better.

It's too early to know about the OL.. i expect us to finish strong in recruiting and maybe sign a few grad transfers to come in and compete for immediate playing time.

If KJ comes back, we'll be absolutely loaded. Even if he goes, we still have a stable of very capable backs. Just because Barrett didn't make a huge impact this year, doesn't mean he won't be special because his talents haven't really been showcased yet. With Barrett, Kam, Whitlow, Asa Martin, Miller and Shivers, i don't see the position as a problem or question mark even.

I don't see him being an NFL guy that regularly takes games over, but those are few and far between. I do think his game translates well to the next level. Good vision, doesn't lose many yards, good in pass protection, and good out of the backfield.
I see him being a very solid NFL RB.

If KJ stays, i could see Miller/Kam wanting to transfer..
With Barrett, Whitlow and Asa Martin being our future at RB.
