He came in and threw like 30 fastballs in a row. Just cant do that

That's exactly what he did when we closed out NC. Again, ground balls hit to college infielders should be outs. Period.

I wasn't really paying attention to the game, but my dad said Burns was having trouble getting loose. Anybody else hear those comments or see what was going on? Something about having to apply a balm to help get him loose. Might explain why it was only fastballs if Burns wasn't comfortable with the range of motion to get the right spin on a breaking ball.

Yes that is correct. He was doing all sorts of stretching in the bullpen. The announcers even commented on how he didn't look loose prior to coming out.

Seems really dumb to bring him in then. Yes, we should have gotten away with it, but if a guy can't get loose, it's probably not smart to bring him in to a crucial situation.

God damn i love that man.

I am guilty of saying that. In the past I have been against that saying, but damn if it hasn't been a post season of highs and lows for basketball and baseball.

He's 100% right though.

It's a new day.

He should be the president of the University as well as the basketball coach.

Thanks for finding that.

This is what has bugged me for many years as an AU fan from the 70's on. Our fans (and some of them are in my family)...when we lose..say things just like Pearl read on twitter...

...His answer is what we ALL as AU fans should say when someone reacts like that.

I remember people said AU would never win another NC after 57...and now in almost 10 years we have won 1, played in 2, and close in another from getting to the playoffs.

Most of us now HAVE that mindset that we will do it...or certainly will be in the position to win championships or play in championship games, series or playoffs.

Losing A game, no matter how it happens should not cause us to say stupid things like JABA....geez...

Well. That was a terrible decision. Sending Will around on a liner hit directly at the right fielder.

meh, make 'em make a good throw...he did. It'is an elimination game and there were two outs. Send him every single time imo.

Routine plays will be the death of this team. Been a heck of a year. Played above their heads and got hot at the end of the year.
