I’ve got a good thought why Ashford isn’t starting. It’s either he thinks he knows everything, or maybe it’s because he doesn’t know the playbook in/out

Call was suppose to be a Zone Slap to Cobb in motion, but Robby decided to change it to Zone Read. If he had stuck to the plan it would have been a big gain, instead of a tackle for loss.

Hugh called him out. See below:

It was not going to be a 50 yard gain, as Freeze first suggested, but it would have been positive yardage. Maybe even 5-8. Big difference between 2nd and 5-2 versus 2nd and 13, fo sho.

Well then go Spurrier on his arse and pull him immediately. Run what’s called or I’m not playing you a single down.

I really think Hugh has tried to keep him from transferring from the beginning with all his comments about Robbie having a package. Seems like he is worried about hurting his feelings or leaving him out. Maybe I’m just looking into too much but it seems like he has used caution in what he says to him and about him.

I listened to the whole video and didn't see anything about the first play.

He didn’t “call out Ashford“. Stop being a sensationalist drama queen bitch. He said that he needed to coach him better.

8:13 seconds he talks about the first play.

He brings it up because he tells the press it isn't always the play caller that is the issue, and then brings up play one.

I've watched most if not all of Ashford's snaps at Auburn and he seems to want to have the ball in his hands most of the time for better or worse. Especially on the zone-read, he keeps it way more than he should and I believe that opposing defenses caught on to that a long time ago. They would rather one of our RBs beat them instead of Ashford.

The Ashford haters can’t help themselves. Remember the “he’s been practicing at WR and had a meltdown when he wasn’t named QB1” stuff? Both verified bullshite.

Well then that’s a problem. Robby is not good enough to coddle. If you’re not going to run what the coach calls, you’re no good to me anyways.

At some point, you have to coach a guy instead of just keeping him happy.

Regardless of what the play call was or wasn't, it was an absolutely atrocious read by Robby.

The 2nd and 1 call when he tried to hand it off on the wrong side, then run to the sideline for negative 5 yards was pretty frustrating.

He made a good read in the red zone on the first scoring TD drive.

See that is the problem and was beyond a poor read. It wasn't supposed to be a read at all. He chose to make it one. It was a zone slap, which is putting it into the RB's hand on a designed run. Hugh wasn't going to throw Robby under the bus and called it a teaching moment.

The dude went left where there was no blocking and he knew there was none. That's worse than a bad read.

It's Robby's decision making that keeps him from starting every game is what I got from some of the article.

No, there are plenty that know he’s the best QB on the roster.

Is it decision making or just plain selfishness?

When the coach tells you to hand it off and you don’t and try to make something happen yourself, that’s selfishness.

You are no longer playing for the team, you are playing for yourself.

That's a decision he makes if it's selfishness, no?
