I think both defenses are better than the opponents offenses right now. So I see both teams struggling to score TDs.

Something like this, but special teams / defense (on both sides, maybe) will come up big on one sides or both in the 2nd half, like last week. Add 10 pts to both sides is about where I am at.

but if that is your only real concern, then I worry a bit

Outside of Wide Receiver where would you give Penn State the advantage?

QB - Auburn
OL - push
TE - I will be generous and give slight edge to Penn State
RB - Tank vs Noah Cain edge to Tank, 2and 3 deep big advantage AU

WR - Penn State

DL - Slight Edge AU
LB - Auburn
DB - Auburn

Punter - Slight edge Penn State

Kicker - Auburn

Return and coverage teams - Auburn

Corch, you should know better.

Against the competition so early in the season is pretty much irrelevant at this point. Only two games, but both of u have seen enough of each other to know what is going to happen Saturday. On that front, I think (and repeat) that we will have some different looks and a fricking SOLID 8 play situational package with TJF. PLUS ONE MORE frickING PLAY that is not a dive off center or up our center's anus. As it stands now TJF is our back up emergency and future. Plain and simple. Sounds strange maybe, but I believe our season goes as he goes. He looked a WHOLE lot better last week than week 1. Granted I snoozed much of the second half. It just seems lots of things are clicking for lots of people and this is a very, very good thing for Auburn. If you are from Auburn you will understand. Auburn goes as AU football, and recently (I love me all kinds of CBP) basketball goes. Restaurants, hotels, J&M, merch, all of it. Auburn goes as AU sports go, basically. And we are going up and thatta way. Not the CGM version but the CBH version, if anyone caught that after ASU when he left the field last week. Less 25 pieces of double trouble nose picking, and LOTS more spitting bullets. WDE CBH and the entire AU family.

PSU has a huge in conference win on the road against a high quality opponent at their house, rockin'. If you watched that game and not just the highlights, you know THAT was a big fuggin' statement for PSU and an announcement to the the big 10g and country.

We have not been there and done that yet. This Saturday is huge for all kinds of reasons, but early / later day away games (frick kick off time. No fricking excuses - same for both teams, so stop using the "AU doesn't get up for early games" shite, merit or not). It is even this week. Bring on all Happy / Sad Valley fans for a night game against an AU squad that is clicking and more than itching to make a statement to the country. That statement is a huge middle finger telling anyone and everyone for either frick off or buckle up when playing Auburn. I haven't seen (felt) it for a long time, but let there be no doubt. I think this team is for real. Like...for REAL. We has all the makings and puzzle pieces. CBH and staff are fricking making the next puzzle. This game is on the players and leaders, if we have them and I DO believe we do. I don't think this game will come down to coaching or this or that play call. This game will be about whether our 18-22 or so year old players want to be great. Or not. It will be up our players, not our coaches, how this game goes and who really wants the win. I will take Auburn.

Sorry PSU. Not sorry. War Damn.

I think the real question is, has Bo matured enough? I'm hopeful that Bobo will have a plan to ease him in on the road, but if I was PSU, I'd stack the box and make Bo beat you with his arm.

I don't know anything about PSU's secondary, but our receivers haven't been showing the ability to shake a defender so far. Seems like Akron and ASU defenders were in decent position on most routes.

I like the way special teams are playing, our D is strong too. Just not sure we can present a balanced enough offense yet. I'll post a score later in the week after some more orange and blue kool-aid.

I think Penn State is a good team. I'm not knocking them I just don't think without turnovers, penalties, miscues, that anyone on our schedule outside of Bama, Uga, and Ole Miss can score in the 30's on us.

So for this game I would guess it's sorta a race to 28 points.

That’s a route running issue, I saw too many rounded off routes vs ASU in the first half.

Defenses should rule this game, but AU running back depth proves the difference.

One caveat, if some special teams coach calls for a kick-off short deep end zone, then 'Katie bar the door'. For some reason, AU does not cover returnable kick-offs against quality teams very well and results in great opponent field position.

Akron defenders weren't even in the same vicinity as our receivers on several big plays, which I think says a lot more about how bad they are more than how good our guys are at running routes. I will say that Bo Nix threw what looked like two perfect deeps balls (I believe both were to Shedrick Jackson) that were defended beautifully by the Alabama State cornerback #4. He was transfer from Jacksonville State and had a pick 6 called back in their season opener. I think he is their best player on defense, but it is a bit disappointing Jackson couldn't get fully behind him or beat him in a jump ball. Bo Nix also had the touchdown pass to Caylin Newton dropped, and the dropped screen pass to Bigsby, that was almost certainly going to be a touchdown. Penn State has 4 int's through 2 games, so I think turnovers are definitely something we need to worry about in this game, and our receivers are going to have to make some plays.

It is just tough to tell how anything we have done is going to translate on the road against a team of PSU's caliber. They are definitely beatable. Sean Clifford is an iffy QB with turnover problems himself, and their running game really hasn't got going much this year. Wisconsin beat them in pretty much every category accept for turnovers in week 1 and Penn State was only up 24-6 late in the 3rd against Ball State until a pick 6.

I expect Penn State to load the box to try and stop our running game. Wisconsin ran for 200 yards against them, but only at 4 yards a carry and a long of 19 yards. This game rides on Bo. If he plays an efficient game, and we get him going early on, it will open up the run game and I think we can keep them off balance. I'm also hoping to see several new wrinkles if we have been holding out for this game. Big statement game for this team and staff.

If Nix can avoid making bad decisions and throw accurately, I am pretty confident. I'm afraid that's a big "if" though. But maybe our O line surprises us and we are able to run easily on a good team.

I think the gap between their DL vs our OL is > than the gap between our DL vs their OL and that’s why I think we lose
