Boxers require that they cover their chins, too. Sometimes folks get knocked the frick out, though.

Had the ball pinned to his chest. shite goes sideways from time to time

Gus Malzahn’s press conferences are a treat to watch this year for anyone who doesn’t check them

Dude is showing some real fire. I’ve been as critical of him as anyone but this is the attitude I think we’ve all longed to see for a long time.

Leading up to the game this week was especially fun. He didn't go so far as to call it a revenge game, but you could tell he was absolutely looking forward to obliterating State after how last year went down.

It was punched out because of a gap between arm and body.

We won, but we had 4 fumbles, 3 not counting the ridiculous pullout after down.

AU 5-0, Gus good now.

Not aimed at you specifically, but Gus has really been shite on by this fan base and is under appreciated. The greatest coach probably ever is at the state school, and Gus has kept AU right there, more so than almost any other coach in AU history.

Just want to say, frick some of you. Enjoy what you have and realize where AU has been and who we actually are.

I feel like just going full retard on tRant this week. Do I have the boards blessing? I don't like UF, these young guns need to be reminded why.

God these assholes. Got one on the Rant right now that claims to watch every SEC game and is saying "A guy that fast (Schwartz) would definitely be used as a WR more, if he had any hand skills at all..."

Who the frick do these people think they are?

Must not be watching very closely if they didn't notice the giant club on his hand the first few games. A broken hand takes months to heal under normal circumstances, this man is out here catching footballs with it.

Yeah he thinks last year's marginal numbers, when we still had Slayton and Ryan Davis, have some bearing.

I hope flash torches UF.

1) Bo is finally getting his timing down with the WRs. He hit a couple of long pass plays that the past few weeks would have be overthrown. As Gus said in his post game comments, having the WRs healthy and in practice have helped.

2) Fumbles are still a huge concern.

3) I get that the HUNH is Gus's "thing," but at times we have to be able to slow it down some. Granted, the early part of the game was a bit fluky, but at the end of the 1st quarter MSU lead TOP by a 2:1 ratio (10+ minutes to less than 5, according to the stats on the Aubietron). I worry about how imbalances like that impact the defensive guys.

4) Derrick Brown continues to impress. MSU ended up completing the pass, but Brown caused the QB to reset and change his arm angle because Derrick's big old arm/hand were right in the passing lane on one play.

5) 5-0 so far. Barring a complete meltdown we get another winning season. That would be 7 for Gus, only one behind Tubs who had 8 in a row, and two behind Pat who had 9. If we go 2-1 on the road trip, we can still control our own destiny in November.

That was a result of our defense giving us a short field the entire quarter, and impressive offensive drives. I'll take that every friggin game if we can.

Not if the 1 is in Red Stick, which is the most likely scenario.

If you are talking about the SEC West crown then yes. But we definitely still would control our playoff destiny imo. 11-1 with the only loss in Red Stick isn't getting left out.

That's True, hadn't thought of that.

There is a highly unlikely scenario where we are one of three 1-loss teams after the SECCG:

AU loses to LSU
LSU wins out but loses to....

Mizzou in the Championship game

See, I told you it was unlikely

This board is full of people who have convinced themselves at one time or another Jimbo, Leach or Clark are better options for Auburn...let that sink in right now void of bias perspective. People thought on multiple occasions we'd be better off with Jimbo, Leach or Clark than Gus.

Here’s a chaos what if - LSU beats AU and AU beats UGA both in tight, hard fought losses. All three teams win out other wise. UGA beats LSU in hard fought loss in SEC championship. So you got all three sitting there with 1 loss each to each other in tight games.
