t's funny how people love to throw out the 7 year number.
It's a way of skating around having to account for the upward trend over the last 4 years.
Look at Buzz Williams record at VA TECH.
It doesn't take that long to turn a program around.
Look at Auburn, look at Miss State, the list goes on and on.

and if we hadn't mucked up the Altman hire, none of this would be an issue.
And in football, if we had just hired Bear Bryant it may be Arkansas Nick Saban is coaching right now.

Wanna bet that we don't make the NCAA tournament this year?
How about if we do, you don't post here for six months?
If we don't, I'll self ban for six months.
Deal?

I do not give one single frick about these things.
Arkansas basketball is in an upward trend.
Only a retard would risk that momentum by firing their coach.

I like Mike and genuinely want him to succeed, but he’s not even a semblance of Nolan.
We went through this last year and the team rallied down the stretch. I would not be surprised if they rally down the stretch in this season as well.
The problem is that we are falling into the Bielema trap of start off dead slow and hope for a miracle finish to have a respectable season. Because some years you don't get that miracle finish.
We are going to be good at best with Mike and most seasons just decent.

Momentum? Arkansas was 27-9,13-5 in 2014-2015, .500 in 15-16, and 25-10, 12-6 in 16-17, and is starting off this year in the gutter. How is that upward momentum? It's better than his first few years, but it sure looks like he's peaked, considering that on paper this should've been the best team he's had.

If 25-27 wins is the peak, I'll take it.

I should have specified that 25-27 wins in the regular season is a great season.
It puts you safely in the tournament every year.
How many regular season games did the championship teams win?
26?
So no, 25-27 wins is just fine.
ETA: Man, some of you guys are fricking ridiculous with your expectations. Do you REALLY THINK Arkansas is capable of averaging the same number of regular season games that the 94 team got when they won the national title? Like that shite is the standard and anything less is failure?
20 wins should be the average and an excellent season is 25+

I'll tell ya what. If you lose the bet (as I expect), I will give you a shot at the champ. I know you will have the sadz and you'll want to try and kick someone's arse.
But I kick arse like it's my job, man. So you'll lose that too.
Just make sure to bring your wife along so she can see how big a bitch her man is.

To be fair, they play more regular season games now than they did in '94.
By my count they played 26 regular season games in '94 (10 out of conference and 16 conference). This year there are 31 regular season games (13 out of conference and 18 conference). If you go 20-11 and you are squarely on the bubble.
ETA: Montevallo (2/5/94)

I'd almost make that bet but we will make the Tourney with 19 to 20 wins and an SECT win which is absolute bullshite. Just making the tourney as a 9-10 seed is an excellent season for Anderson fans.

As it turns out, the first schedule I looked at did not have the February 5, 1994 Montevallo game, so it's actually 26 regular season games for the '94 season. Regardless, the point still stands.

Eh. You're just butthurt that I called you out for making the moronic claim that Arkansas basketball should average 25 wins per year.
It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on this website.
But don't worry, you'll get over it.

Florida averages more than 26 wins over the last 7 seasons. What were they before Billy? You should pack it in for the night.
