Both Mississippi schools in football. It doesn’t matter what else happens in conference play those schools should be beneath us. I’ve never been able to put my finger on exactly what I consider an upset or what losses really piss me off but those are it I think. Yeah losing always sucks but those schools I named should be beneath us as a program and if whoever the coach is can’t beat those schools on a regular basis he needs to be shown the door.

Add aggy to the list, but we are on par with most whether we like it or not due to our instate talent. The portal will be our friend.
Like it or not those teams think the same about us and until we get to the Bama and Georgia recruiting level, which ain’t happening, here we are.
We have been David. Vs Goliath since I can remember, I’m ready to launch that rock that counts….

2007 LSU still got to be in the title game after we were their second loss the final game of the regular season. Even when the rock counts, it doesn't count

Arkansas is on par with those schools that are close to the bottom except Vandy.
When you are on the same level as them, expecting to beat them each year is ridiculous.

No one is on the level of Bama recruiting, Georgia is close but still are behind.
Arkansas will never recruit on the level of Bama because those nutjobs have an extremely unhealthy obsession with football. They have shot each other when a person mentioned it is just a game. I never heard someone murder a human being in the state of Arkansas over a football game because Arkansas fans understand it is just a game not life and death unlike retard Gump fans.

Arkansas may have been significantly better than those teams 20 years ago, but thats not the case any longer... And it's all due to access to talent.
Arkansas has essentially no in state anymore with the absolute collapse of LR football programs and the rise of hoops in that area. There is also the significant rise of teams like Baylor, TCU, A&M, and even SMU and Houston (to a lesser extent) that have taken lots of Texas talent that formerly would have gone to Arkansas off the market.
So, that leaves the team trying to piece together 20+ recruits every year from other states...some of which are not close to Fayetteville like Georgia and Florida, and even Louisiana.
As of today, Mississippi has far better access to talent than Arkansas, and Kentucky has made real inroads to Ohio and the Midwest under Stoops.
Fayetteville just isn't close enough to any major talent pool to really attract recruits at a top level. If the school was located in Texarakna, that would be another story but it's not.
The only real comp I see to Arkansas is Oregon, which also has virtually no in state talent but birders a big talent state in California, and it has a beautiful natural campus area that is somewhat isolated.
Only problem is, Oregon has Phil Knight and nuke branding and Arkansas doesn't.
Thats how one school can recruit in tbe top 8 and one cant crack the top 20.

Arkansas has always had a lack of instate talent even when Little Rock talent was good. So that news is old news. Arkansas for decades has always relied on out of state talent mixed with instate talent to field good teams.
Yet teams like SMU, Baylor, Houston and TCU have worse according to the recruiting rankings classes each year than Arkansas.
Sam has done a good job getting players out of Florida and Georgia despite the distance. Rocket from Florida and Rashod from Georgia.
The Mississippi schools and Kentucky trail Arkansas in the recruiting rankings. They have no better or worse access to talent than Arkansas. If anything I would give a slight edge to Arkansas which has a huge alumni base in the Dallas area.
Fayetteville could be located on the Texas border and still not get the players. Don't you think it has more to do with the hard truth that Arkansas football isn't a winner?
Oregon took advantage of a declining interest of college football in the state of California. When those teams were good in the past, Oregon football struggled.
Yet with all the branding they have with Nike, they still can't get the players.
Yet with all that supposedly talent they still get the red arse from top teams like Georgia who have physical specimens that Oregon lacks. They benefit from the weakest power 5 conference in the land but still can't regularly make the playoffs. They are all flash but no thunder.

Well we lost to Kentucky and Missouri in the same season in 2007-08 lol. Went to that long OT game against Kentucky a few years before that under Matt Jones. Ole Miss was typically back and forth.
We did win most against the other three though.

To me we should typically be better than those teams with some exceptions to their ups and our downs. We should have and be able to maintain winning records over all of them though.....

Well Missouri just officially hit a decade without a bowl win. And 4 straight seasons without a winning season. And 4 straight bowl losses.

And yet they’ve pretty much owned us since joining the SEC and becoming our permanent East opponent.

Not really.
I think most Mizzou fans would rather have kansas back on that date.
No offense as I'm sure you would rather have LSU scheduled.
It's been "forced" on all of us via the SEC office after expansion.

Then why would your AD refuse a bowl game with them in football? I dont like dogging on Missouri but they bring a lot of the hate on themselves

Texas would be ideal
You can’t deny that game is circled on Drink’s calendar

Thats not true. Don't believe everything you read.
We agreed to play them in basketball before we worked out a deal to play a couple football games OOC
If we were "afraid", to lose to kansas why would we schedule OOC basketball games against them?
You all are a hoot.
