Should Auburn lose to Alabama Saturday, there is growing buzz within the profession that Gus might “reset his clock” by taking the Arkansas job. Arkansas closes out their season Friday vs Missouri, following which it is widely expected the University will let Bret Bielema go.

The logic among coaches we’ve spoken states that Gus would be to give himself a fresh 5-year deal with a total contract value likely in the $30 million range (and quite possibly larger)… and that’s before incentives. The Arkansas fan base is more tame than Auburn’s, there is no 365-day-a-year comparison with Alabama, they would be welcoming him back to a state where he has had great success, and he would have a voice in choosing Jeff Long’s replacement as athletics director.

We are looking at a $50 million offseason if he’s the guy with all the buyouts and contracts.

Dude this is the Yarnell Hill Fire at this point with all the Gus talk... If this is all a front then the GOBN should be working covert ops for the fricking Moussad...

Would love for this to happen but I’m not going to get my hopes up.

You would love for us to spend that much on GM and him to come to Arkansas? Why, why, why... ohhh Lord Why?

Is it his whirly bird offensive genius?
Is it his involvement in Armani Ronnie's Church?
Is it his down to earth, folksy helpful human nature?
Is it his ability to recruit Michael Dyers?

Why Lord Why?

It’s not my money. If they want to spend it then more power to them.

I think our bread and butter over the years has been able to get good RBs and that’s where he excels. I think our talent pairs very well with his system and we’d have success offensively right out of the gate with him. Personally, I’d love to see what he could scheme up with Whaley, Hayden, Hammomds and Kelley.

No kidding. If we are indeed millions above budget for the stadium renovation as rumored, plus Long's buyout, plus Bret's buyout, plus a new coaching contract with an additional buyout possibly need to hire a new coach?

That's a lot of scratch.

we could do a lot worse than gus malzahn. don't really care if we get him or not. but he's the safe choice

personally I hope we go for a high risk, high reward coach

Love you man but I just don't see it. Auburn has so much more talent then we ever will have.

I agree with this. I don't think he would do bad here but I just don't see a high reward either.

If we do this, we are the biggest collective gaping vagina in the history of sports. Nick Saban? Yes. Gus Malzahn? HELL NO. How many times does he get to use us and we just come back for more? How does our arse look today Gus? And if I was a coach there of any other sport I’d be putting feelers out and contacting my agent getting the hell out of that inbred system of utter bullshite.

When has Gus used us? I could see an argument to get a job 11 years ago but am I missing something since then?

Yes, he definitely did 11 years ago. Maybe using now is the wrong word although his butt was a little warm last year if you recall the stories about having to take the offense away from him, forcing Lashley out etc. and even earlier this season all the bitching and moaning about him so he comes here to get out of that and to get treated like God. We’re going to basically just hand him the keys to the whole athletic department. The most pathetic and embarrassing move ever if it happens.

This is the reason I’m skeptical of the smoke around Gus right now.

This is Sexton’s game.
