it makes zero sense. but no one here really knows anyone else and just expects us to in the running for the hot names.

dont see the university looking to spend 4mil+ on a bball coach, but itd be cool if im wrong.

Yeah everything I've read national media wise says Beard wouldn't leave for anywhere but a big time job at this point. That's what I would expect as well.

I personally don't think he leaves Tech unless some Blue Blood or Texas throws crazy money at him. A school like Tech is perfect for him. I don't think he would do well at a Blue Blood long term with his system.

The main reason I only look at mid major coaches. I wouldn't look at those coaches first as an AD but I know most wouldn't say no to the job. Much easier to evaluate as back up plans. Hoiberg and Mussleman are the easy ones to say but going to be difficult and need to get lucky for serious chances at either of them.

I could see Texas throwing big money at him after the Shaka Smart failure comes to an end. Don't think he'd take it though.

It is tough to tell. Just comes down to how much loyalty he feels to his alma mater. (Believe his daughter currently attends Texas?) He spent 5 years as an assistant at Texas and 10 at Texas Tech. You don't see many coaches ever jump between schools in conference. If it happens, I think it isn't in the next few years. Which means that Texas will probably have to go through another coaching cycle anyway.

Yeah, it sounds like Smart will get one more year, which may make it more likely but I still don't see it happening.

According to the Ryan Seacrest of Tardville Mikes job is safe this year. Although I seriously doubt that fricking idiot has a clue....

I'm sure the thought process is that Mike hasnt had many near-.500 years, and that he'll have a fire lit under his and his team's arse next year and will make some noise nationally. Hell if we're smart, we'll extend him now for a lot cheaper than we would next year. GOBN doin work

I think most people believe he will get another year so that's not really going out on a limb or anything.

Odds are he is back.

Oh I know I just enjoy laughing at all of the blowhards over there who think they are in the know. Dorkatarian is wrong on almost every prediction he's ever made. And Wilson is nuttier than a Christmas fruitcake. Banning people one day for something he does the very next. I read only over there on occasion bc I can't deal with all of the fricktards.

I just don’t get how people who have any sort of basketball knowledge expect this team to be any better next year without gafford.

All of our other posts avg what, 10 pts a game combined? We don’t have a single true 5 on the roster. And in the A&M game for example Gafford had 60% of ALL rebounds we had as a team.

Good thing we have one commit next year and he’s a guard...Not making a change this year only prolongs the rebuilding process. And things will probably get Houston Nutt ugly next year when no one goes to the games

Because thats what Arkansas has been since Frank got too old to do things right. Ssy what you will about Broyles but he would have NEVER allowed Bert to stay even a day after Toledo. Its not that hard to spot good coaching. Jeff Long was a joke. Firing Petrino (no I don't want to debate this) was fricking full blown retard. HY has a chance now to make his mark. To send a signal to the fans that this mediocre shite will not be tolerated. So count me among the heartbroken if Mike is given another season. The mans recruiting is shite and his coaching is too.

I could see why you wouldn't want to debate such a stupid position.

Frank is the one who got us into this mess. Joining the SEC is the worst thing that has ever happened to this program.

How do you think our recruiting would have done this year if we weren't in the SEC?
