Oh my God if A&M can actually lure Kiffin this might be the greatest offseason I can remember. The Rant will be must-see.

He mentioned in his presser that they don't have enough 5 star talent

No it won’t because remember when Nutt won but the fan base let Stephen’s Media and the Chicken Mafia control their thoughts?
I thought that most of the sentiment was that Nutt was winning in spite of himself? I never really attributed the success of those teams to Nutt.

He passed for the same reason everyone else did. We were an absolute dumpster fire. Was a good call. They put up with him sucking for 3 years and will give him a stupid contract after this year. Then he will go back to sucking again once his soft east schedule goes away next year.

I remember him saying something along the lines of he didn’t want to coach here because he wouldn’t be able to go home again if/when it ended for him

If we hire Gus I’m done. Dude couldn’t hack it at Auburn but idiots continue to think he’s going to be a great hire here.

That would make sense and why I’d probably never want to coach football here either. It’s never going to end well at a mid-tier school in todays SEC. We aren’t going to win championships and our coach will always end up fired when we get tired of whatever level they can reach. Why subject yourself to that drama with your actual family and friends just down the street?

I’ll take it. At least I’ll feel something briefly if we go this route. Caveat, pay him basically nothing and make him earn an SEC sized salary.

I don't think Kiffin would take the A&M job. He doesn't like hobnobbing with boosters and loathes local media. He's too aloof for that gig.

Pittman is officially, 100% out as HC at the University of Arkansas. Malzahn is the leading candidate to replace him and maintains a strong support from boosters. Announcement should be soonish.

frick it. If we're giving up might as well fully throw in that towel.

Drink did not turn the job down, it was never offered to him because of his lack of experience.

Kiffin wasn't going to be paid what OM was willing to pay.

Behind he scenes Pitt was the pick from the start due to popularity among those whose opinions were asked.

Basically HY wanted to go cheap, was only going to go cheap, but had to have a name to resonate with the fan base enough to keep those tickets renewals coming because your money is all that matters to them.

You pay and do not demand or expect results or accountability. You pay and when you have second thoughts of pay they email you excuses. When they fear you will not pay, they will make a change in coaches bringing in the next cheap failure and demand you pay more.

Just wait, Muss will make a final four and win a NC soon ask for something and it won't be in their budget.

Kiff seems like he's holding out for one of the big Florida jobs if they ever open up, which could be next year if Napier continues his shite show.

Pittman is a good man.
Malzhan is questionable as a human at best. I can't support him as a person.
But,none of that matters.

At bare minimum it sates the unrest and we might finally get a united front if Gus tries and fails.
