wasnt great but it atleast didnt look like I threw the lame duck pass out there. hicks was lucky to not hdave a pick he tossed to a Portland state defender in the hands once or twice.
hicks doesnt have the arm strength to fit the ball in a window on a medium or long throw. he can air it out with all his strength but isn't
very accurate when doing so.
game management at end of half chad said in his presser he needed to correct that as a coach was telling him to keep going.

I've really missed football season. Ya'll gotta keep these threads coming. Sure, I get disappointed but damn...
Oh, and remember what I said. The average win prediction for this board was 5.5. Historically we over predict by 2.

Now accepting apologies for all the hate I got calling Morris a cuck from day one.
Especially after last season. Anyone that knows football knows coaching lost at least 2 games last year to lesser talent. He's SMU-level talent

I don't think anyone is overlooking those. There's just so much suck from yesterday to work through that we're having to pace ourselves.

He was a bit defiant in his conference it seemed to me.
If you had his record as a head coach, you wouldn't apologize for any of the wins either, they are few and far between.
His pressers have largely sounded like Nutt/Bert pressers where you are ok as long as you understand what he delivers is as good as Arkansas can ever expect. He is responsible for the wins, the program is responsible for the losses.

There are definitely a lot more of us now. We have about three people who still think he's a good coach.
If he rallies the troops and makes a bowl, I'll be happy to admit I was wrong. But he just nearly lost to an FCS team at home with a team that was supposed to be "much improved." Not gonna buy in until he shows us something.

In the future we need to assign posters to melt over specific screw ups to speed the process along.

Morris is correct, no such thing as a bad win.
There are some ugly as hell ones though.

He can still turn it around, we need a new OC like last year tho.
Another issue is he has relied way to heavily on Clemson's success that came after he left not while he was there.
He has used the above and his connections in Texas to land the SMU job and eventually Arkansas. At SMU he recruited only in Texas, they sucked him off over building a Texas only roster that strokes their booster's arrogance of Texas. At Arkansas he should be competing and winning recruiting battles with Texas, aggy, and OU for recruits, not OSU, TTU, and Baylor, if his connections are worthy of the job.
He seems to be like Bert in his inability to grasp the concept that SEC is different than other conferences. His mickey mouse high school offense can work in the SEC when paired with Tempo, Feeze and Gus have shown you can have a playbook 5 plays deep and it still work when you have the talent and ability to pick one of you five plays fast and run fast. At SMU and Arkansas he's shown to not grasp the obvious which puts Arkansas in quite the quagmire.
Arkansas' decision makers have proven to have the uncanny ability to hire hard headed HCs with a refusal to adapt or make changes.

I'm not a fan of this at all, and I didn't like it when Bert always pointed to his Wisconsin successes as evidence he knew what he was doing. Bert walked into a ready made program that was built by Barry Alvarez, and Morris wasn't the head coach at Clemson and they've had far more success without him than they did with him.
You can't lay claim to Clemson's success when you've been gone for half a decade and that ensuing period following your departure has been their most successful in program history.

one thing I liked about Chad when he was hired was how he1 said he was adaptable and would play with what we had to make it work like a good highschool coach

In typical aggy fashion, all hat and no cattle.
Typically we have seen a HC establish the identity of his team by the end of their first year and definitely into their second year.
Morris's offense still has no identity to speak of.
It is easier to say I just need my guys and we will be fine when people can see what you are trying to do and can make their own determination that you are few guys short of being able to accomplish it.
