No one at Wisconsin gave (or will give) Bert any frick-all credit whatsoever for anything accomplished while he was there... and they weren't sorry to see him go. NO ONE.

This is true. SMU fans were disappointed to lose Chad. They were annoyed by his clichés and coach speak, but they thought he was a good coach that resuscitated their program and its relationship with Texas high school coaches. June jones destroyed them in that regard. They did hate his DC there.

On the other hand, Wisconsin fans thought Bert was holding them back, and they hated his in-game management. There are a million threads that one can find on badger boards via Google search in which their fans long to fire Bielema. They thought Alvarez never would actually do it. Then, they were ecstatic when Arkansas took him off their hands. The arguments between our fans and theirs reminded me of our arguments with OM fans during which we "warned" them about HDN.

Two very different attitudes from SMU and Wisconsin fans upon losing their coach.

If 35% of the roster hates your guys because you’re not Bert and 75% of the roster has no business playing SEC football it’s a no win situation.

He pieced together what he could in year one, has one of the best classes in school history coming in.

The truth and reality are it’s going to take some time to rebuild this cluster that Bert and Jeff left us with. He will pull in some JUCO OL and piece together what he can and get through next year. I expect the 2020 class to be OL heavy.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and this program won’t be either. I think some forget just how bad this roster was. Some of these guys just suck and some never gave Chad a chance.

On, of course. I would have wanted him to have handled this year differently, but to be losing it over a coach after his first year is just dumb.

If we are still fielding the worst O line in the league in year 3, a large percentage of those playing are unmotivated and show no pride or integrity, then I’ll be looking for the next coach.

I'll go with a provisional on. Let's call it on but not thrilled.

He is recruiting well but we lost some games we should have won and I can't lay all of that at the feet of the players that the Bertster left behind. By and large, with the exception of a few games, the coaching staff did not cover themselves with glory this season.

That having been said I'm willing to give him some time to get his players and system in place. A lot of folks point to Mike Leach as the gent we should have hired... and Leach went 3-9 two of his first three years at Wazzou. Sometimes it takes a while to build a winning program.

Still on, too early for me to jump off due to the state of the program when he arrived.

98th in sacks
And how much of that is because it takes Storey 6 seconds to go through an entire progression?

Yeah that doesn't help. But we've all seen how bad the O line has been for the past three years, they were terrible with Austin Allen and Cole Kelley playing quarterback too. Not sure why you're trying to rewrite history and pretend they were good.

On the Morris Bandwagon. Frustrated and tired of the administration issues that allowed things to get to this point. Its Chad's mess to clean up, but he sure didn't make it. I'll stay on until he proves he can't...just like I did with Bert.

If he lands the 2 juco O-Lineman we're after AND Kelly Bryant...frankly he'll be a miracle worker. Perhaps the reason he hasn't loaded up on freshman O-linemen (who for the most part can't help you for 2 years) is because he knows he MUST get the best quality juco O-Linemen he can for it to matter fast enough.

If all you judge the progress of this cleanup by is wins and losses for the first couple years, you'll be wasting a lot of time ranting into the internet.

I'm totally tired of the debacle...and if Chad doesn't fix it will likely lose interest as a fan of the football program. But to lay the blame on Morris and the coaching staff at this point is actually DAMAGING to the program. Good, supportive fans that give a reasonable chance would sure help. Sadly the 10% of the fanbase that are mouthbreathing wannabes are the ones that call the sports talk shows and make most of the posts online. If it makes you feel better, then rant away, but if you were so dang smart why didn't you interview for the AD job yourself?

On..... this roster was a freaking cluster this year. I'm for giving him 3 years at least.... it'll take at least two solid classes to fix this.

Not much we can do at this point.

Was pretty shocking how bad we were this year and the guy just bothers me but if he starts to win than great.

The only thing I'm saying is that as a position group, QB performed worse than OL this year.

The QB can't be expected to perform at a high level if his offensive line isn't doing its job. This isn't rocket surgery. It's like shooting a three pointer in basketball with a hand in your face...Except worse. Because instead of simply impeding your ability to see your target, they're also about to hit you in the sternum with the force of a Ford Tempo moving 10 miles per hour.

"Why can't you complete those passes while that 275 pound linebacker does belly splashes on top of your arse time after time?"

You should go rewatch a few games. Storey didn't do anything even when he did get time.

I've yet to see an offense where the qb didnt bare some responsibility in pre snap blitz recognition.

Do we need better QBs? You betcha. But the offensive line is a much much bigger concern.

There is video out there of defenders blowing right by our linemen and doing a full-on Jessie Ventura style dropkick on our QB while the lineman never even got out of his fricking stance.

The o-line is as bad as it possibly gets.

When the QB is under duress on 70% of his snaps, I'm not surprised he flounders on a lot of the opportunities he does get. It's basic psychology.

People have been bitching about every QB we have had through here since Tyler Wilson. And those guys are all still getting paid to play football. You know who isn't? Our offensive linemen from the same timeframe.
