I would imagine we were one of the top offenses in the nation late in the year.
Team batting average .230
Ruiz was the only one that finished with over .300
Mississippi State team batting average .317 for comparison

Over the last 6-8 weeks? No way, we scored way too many runs for that to be accurate. Just talking about the final month+, we peaked at the right time offensively.

Late-season trend (May focus): They improved notably in conference play, ranking 3rd in the SEC for runs per game in SEC games at ~6.8 RPG. They scored 10+ runs in 5 of their last 9 SEC matchups (all in May), compared to just 4 times in March/April combined.

Last I checked State is still playing and that batting average goes back to February.
I like how you cherry pick stats to fit you narrative. This was a terrible team from February-May.
Who gives a shite what they did April and May, it wasn't enough and hasn't been since the dropped pop fly.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Another telling stat from Nate's great season.

The only thing that matters is peaking at the right time. No one cares what you do in March. Phenomenal job by Nate this year to have the offense among the best in the nation when it mattered. Coached his tail off and very proud of him.

Where are you getting your stats from?

As some had said during the season in pressers you could tell DVH did not like this squad. And yesterday in the post game interview he was smiling and laughing things off several times. He seemed glad this miserable season was over.
I’ve been saying that all year since Arlington.
Something just felt off about this team, and you could tell DVH didn’t seem to like this squad with his comments throughout the year and barbs about how guys did things and carried themselves.
Juxtapose that against the 2025 team who he lauded with praise constantly throughout the season about being a close knit group and extremely coachable.
I don’t know what DVH’s plans are, but I think he announces he’s retiring after next season. It really seems like this year wore him down.

D1 baseball
Still below .300 with a poor pitching staff.
Maybe year 25 will be it for Dave to get that Natty.

It feels like the bombs or nothing is antithetical to everything DVH has built. And this whole year we had a lot more famine than feasting on hits. Then our pitching was subpar. Usually we have one or the other. We got both lacking this year.

Top to bottom, this is my least favorite team in a very long time. I could sit here and bitch and moan about all the stuff that got under my skin about this team but none of that matters at this point. Glad this season is over.

Does anyone recruit the DR? I mean who cares if they lie about their age. We only pay them for 3-5 years anyway,

Anyone else gonna cheer for UALR?
I think it would be pretty special for them to make it to Omaha.

I am! If there's a chance for a Cinderella story, why not cheer for it to be a scrappy small school team out of Arkansas?

There needs to be a staff shakeup of some kind. I know DVH won't do it. He's too damn loyal, but it needs to be done.

He is a more talented Pittman, loyalty mostly.

This sentence has been written every year since 2018.

The foul ball still haunts the baseball program.
Three ding dongs just wanted to be the hero and it cost Dave a title.
