I went over to HiV, it's full of people stating how enjoyable this season was and how exciting this team was to watch. It's just a kids game after all, making a regional is apparently a huge accomplishment.
Not just one person, but everyone in the thread.

Here's my prediction, we'll hard commit on pitching in the portal and end up with a decent starting rotation and some relatively good bullpen depth and wind up with an offense that will average 3.8 runs per game.

Unfortunately I think you’re spot on.
The offense wasn’t good this year, but the fact that pitching and defense were such glaring issues tells me DVH will probably over-index towards those 2 in the portal.
Next year could be similar to 2023 when we had really good pitching and defense but had some guys like Parker Rowland and John Bolton who were all glove and no bat.

I thought this was one of Thompson's best coaching jobs since he's been here especially with the talent level. The offense came alive and carried this club the last 6 weeks or so of the season. They got hot at the right time for once and of course we had nothing else.
32 runs in the 4 regional games. 34 runs in 3 games vs OU. 24 in 3 against Kentucky. 21 in 3 against Ole Miss. 8 and 8 against Tenn/Texas SECT.
Very impressed with how the offense finished the year. I would imagine we were one of the top offenses in the nation late in the year.

I also think that for the realistic first time, that if next year is similar to this, it may be DVH's last.
As some had said during the season in pressers you could tell DVH did not like this squad. And yesterday in the post game interview he was smiling and laughing things off several times. He seemed glad this miserable season was over.
